It is easy to be afraid when we are faced with times of radical uncertainty. Our world feels like it is being rocked at its very foundations. Trust in our leaders, medicine, science and humanity can all be shaken. It becomes clear that not only do we not have the answers we need; we don’t even know how to deal with not having the answers. We are forced to confront two uncomfortable realities: things are not the way they should be, and we are not the way we should be. The good news is that we are part of a story grounded in, and capable of grounding us in, the radical certainly that both this world, and we ourselves, will be made new.
