In August of 2008, Chet Cannon received a jumpstart on his vocation when he was chosen, from among an estimated 70,000 hopefuls, to be a part of The Real World: Brooklyn cast. Due to Chet’s tight jeans, purple clothing, and antics throughout the season, he became a staple to Joel McHales, The Soup.”Chet, who was referred to by Joel as “not gay Chet,” was then flown out to Los Angeles to accept an award for The Best Display Of Homoeroticism By A Straight Male in the 2009 Soup Awards. Before arriving in Brooklyn, Cannon had been studying Finance at the University of Utah and was an accomplished snowboarder. While attending the University, Chet created and hosted a popular, comedic radio program, Chet Chat. The name stuck and has now become the moniker for interviews conducted for Young Hollywood, Buzznet and FriendOrEnemies.com. Since the show wrapped in May of 2009, Chet has relocated to Los Angeles, where he works as an entertainment correspondent with Young Hollywood. Due to his MTV popularity, Chet has been a participant in various MTV projects, interviewed on various red carpet events, and due to popular demand, become a staple MC for Karaoke night at Pete Wentz’s bar, Angels and Kings. He is also a fashion analyst for Us Magazine.
