Because God is so deeply relational, God is always present in our current lives. Of course God is a God of history - so there is a continuity between the past, the present and the future. But, the values of God's nature (love, compassion, justice, inclusion) shape how laws and principles need to change in the present to match what we face at this time in our lives and history. Today we talk about the need for some post-exilic laws.
