This is Ken Ham, celebrating Christmas at ChristmasTown at the Creation Museum.This week we’re looking at the theology of Christmas carols. Today we’re thinking about “Silent Night.” Now, this song paints a picture of what it might’ve been like when Christ was born, describing it as “calm and quiet,” with a sleeping Jesus. Of course, we don’t know any of that—and it probably wasn’t a silent night. After all, a baby had just been born, and later, a group of shepherds would come to visit the Savior.

The carol also mentions angels singing. But the Bible doesn’t actually mention singing. It says the angels praised God.

But the carol does praise Jesus as Lord at his birth. He wasn’t just a baby—he was the Lord of all creation.
