This is Ken Ham, inviting you to join me for ChristmasTown at the Creation Museum.Today we’re finishing up our series on Christmas carols with “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.” Now, is this song biblical?
Well, it begins with singing angels, but the biblical text doesn’t actually mention singing. Rather, the angels said their message to the shepherds.
But, putting that error aside, this song is a wonderful proclamation of the doctrine of the incarnation—Jesus is both God and man. It hails Jesus as the everlasting Lord, the Godhead veiled in flesh, man dwelling with men. And it declares he was sent to reconcile God and sinners, that we would no longer die.
As you sing, focus on what you’re singing.
