Pastor Jeremiah warns of the danger of impulsivity as we continue our journey through the life of King Saul. God's timing is not our timing and when we lose patience and act on impulse, we can make rash decisions and lose the favor of God.
For the next several weeks we will be studying the life of King Saul, Israel's first King. Saul often exemplifies what not to do in life. He was granted God's favor, but his story ends in disgrace. This week we will be looking at the rise of King Saul. In so doing, we recognize the important lesson of being careful for what it is we really desire in life. Sometimes God gives us exactly what we want... and that is not always good.

Westside Church Seattle. Happy Mother's day! Pastor Richard Vicknair has an inspirational message for moms and an encouragement to all of us to express gratitude to the mothers in our lives.
The Gospel is essential. Styles come and go, fads change with the times, but the Gospel truth is eternal. We are sinners. God loves us in spite of our sin. The power of God's grace can transform our lives. The hope of the world is eternal life in the resurrected Jesus Christ.
Having a desire to enjoy good things in life is a wonderful thing. Having an inordinate desire to enjoy the good things in life, or to enjoy the life another person is living is called covetousness. It's a very destructive force in our lives. If we want to disarm it's power over us we must stop focusing on the lives of others
In this message, pastor Jeremiah clarifies the consequences of lying and challenges us to live a life committed the truth.
The eighth commandment is "you shall not steal." It seams straightforward, but upon digging further we discover all sorts of things about God's heart for humanity and what kind of world He desires us to inhabit. This week pastor Jeremiah covers the 6th commandment, "Thou shalt not murder." If you were asked to recite the Ten Commandments from memory, it's likely you would remember this one. This is our favorite commandment because we have confidence we've never violated it. But not so fast. The word murder doesn't convey the meaning of the original word used in the Hebrew language. There is more to this commandment than we might realize on the surface level. Let's dive in!
This week pastor Jeremiah covers the 5th commandment, "honor your father and mother." It's the only commandment that comes with a promise, the promise of long life. Honoring others is an old fashioned virtue that doesn't get a whole lot of airtime these days, so how can we prioritize giving honor? In particular
This week Pastor Jeremiah discusses the fourth commandment to keep the Sabbath day holy. In our day and age it's not just work overload, but sensory overload and information overload we must contend with. This message will help you construct a Sabbath habit and inspire you to implement it in your life
This week, we return to the "Because I said so" sermon series as pastor Jeremiah takes an in depth look at the third commandment to not use God's name in vain. Does this simply mean we shouldn't use God's name as a curse word, or is there something deeper going on here? Spoiler alert, there is!
As we continue our sermon series "Because I said so", we will be taking a look at the first two commandments God gives to the Israelites in Exodus 20. Both have to do with the sin of idolatry. We don't think much of idolatry in the 21st century, but we are just as susceptible to it today as they were then. Why is it such a big deal? What can be done about it? Pastor Jeremiah will be unpacking all of this in our message this week.
One of the things we value the most in our culture is inclusivity. One of the things we hate the most about Christianity is its claims of exclusivity. Jesus claimed to be the only way to a relationship with the Father. And yet, it's the moral teachings of Jesus that have informed us the most on what it means to be inclusive and accepting of others. His teachings on loving our enemies, turning the other cheek, and not returning evil for evil, but evil for good have revealed to us the path to life. Why then do we reject his exclusive claims? Pastor Jeremiah addresses that cognitive dissonance that exists in our culture in this mornings message.
As we continue our sermon series "Jesus, the King of Truth", pastor Jeremiah focuses in on another bold claim Jesus makes about his relationship with the truth. Jesus tells his disciples, "the truth will set you free." Just how does the truth set us free? Tune in and you'll find out!
In this weeks' message pastor Jeremiah teaches from the well known passage in John 14 when Jesus boldly declares, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." We must measure all truth by the standard of truth, Jesus Christ. Discover what that looks like in this inspiring message!
What is Truth? No one seems to know. These days consensus is hard to find and subjectivity reigns supreme. "Speak your truth" is the defining slogan of our time. Jesus made some surprising claims about the truth. He declared himself to be the truth. He confidently asserted that anyone who listened to him was on the side of truth. As well, he promised the truth would set us free. Join us the next four weeks as we explore the truth claims of Jesus.
Pastor Jeremiah will be sharing an inspiring message on the importance of "Being with Jesus". As we begin this new year, let's endeavor to live like Jesus by investing our time being with him.

If Jesus told your story, how would it go? Would your memoir have a happy ending? Would a parable about your life help others make good decisions? We don’t always see our own story the way God does. How can we shift, read between the lines and find God’s perspective on who we are?
In this message Amanda Stubbert shows us how to Let Jesus Tell Your Story.

The great battlefield of life is not our circumstances, it’s our minds. All too often we fight the mental war alone because we don’t want others to know what we are thinking. Self pity is not a feeling, it’s a thought! Resentment is not a feeling, it’s a thought! Anger is not a feeling, it’s a thought! This Sunday we will explore God’s answer to the battle of the mind and discover the key to a renewed mind!
