National Grandparents Day was September 8th and is celebrated each year the Sunday following Labor Day. It was established back in1979 for the purpose of ?honoring grandparents, giving grandparents an opportunity to show love for their grandchildren and to help children understand and become aware of the strength and wisdom of the elders in their family.
