As a holiday special, we pulled together five of our weekly peace segments from Hudson Mohawk Magazine. The first three focus on Ukraine, We begin with an interview with Joe Gerson, president of the Campaign for Peace, Disarmament and Common Security. Then, we talked with Code Pink Co-Founder Medea Benjamin shortly after a missile in the Ukrainian war ended up killing several people in Poland, which prompted fears of an increased intervention by NATO to respond to an attack on a member country. Next, I discussed the divisions in the peace movement over Ukraine with Sally Becker my co-host. After that, we turn to other peace issues and their relationship to other justice movements. We first hear from Pat Hynes, former Director of the Traprock Peace and Justice Center about why peace activists and others are joining in the Poor People’s Campaign. Finally, we hear about the National priorities project about the ever-growing size of the American military budget and what that means for other key issues. With Mark Dunlea for HMM.
