When a poor devout widow begs for a scrap of bread from a rich faithless baker, she promises to participate in the king’s wedding mass as payment for the baker’s generosity. The baker writes “One Mass” on a scrap of paper and places it on his scale to determine how much bread it is worth. To his and the entire town’s surprise, nothing in the shop, not even the gigantic wedding cakes made for the king, outweighs the simple piece of paper representing the true worth of a mass. Luminous old-world watercolor paintings grace the interior of the book and gold foil artwork lends an air of solemnity and sacred beauty to the story. - Josephine Nobisso, Author - Wednesday, May 10, 2017
Some Say This is a Farce - Find Out Why Millions Have Come to Believe Otherwise
The Shroud of Turin with Lee Sweeney
The Shroud of Turin is a centuries old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. A man that millions believe to be Jesus of Nazareth.
Is it really the cloth that wrapped his crucified body, or is it simply a medieval forgery, a hoax perpetrated by some clever artist? Modern science has completed hundreds of thousands of hours of detailed study and intense research on the Shroud. It is, in fact, the single most studied artifact in human history, and we know more about it today than we ever have before.
And yet, the controversy still rages.
We believe that if you have access to the facts, you can make up your own mind about the Shroud.
Lee Sweeney is the Director of The Shroud Center of Southern California, a scientific research and exhibit center that conducts advanced studies on the Shroud of Turin. - Lee Sweeney - Director, The Shroud Center - Saturday, May 6, 2017
