It’s an emotional start to a special season here at PlanItMum HQ. In this weeks episode, PlanitMum: Living without mum, Kay has an open and honest discussion with Bailey about how he has processed what has happened and how he is handling his grief. She also spoke to counsellor Kim Morris about the importance of talking.

How are you REALLY feeling?

We want to start the conversation as it's so important to talk, especially during these unusual times.

These past few weeks and months have felt hard and so many people we talk to feel the same.

There have been many people in the public eye speak out too about not being ok and feeling the strain and stress of the past few months and the uncertainty that lies ahead.

We are going to have a series of wellness episodes coming up focusing on maintaining good mental health, looking after yourself and where to go if you need help...

If you need to talk or want to comment or have any ideas on what you'd like us to cover please get in touch

Ok, so hands up who is actually making some serious, and much needed, time for themselves?

Yes, we know that time is stretched when you become a mum or dad but in order to function and be the best you for everyone it's so important that we factor in some time that we spend doing things just for us ... that could be a hot cup of tea in peace once a week, an evening off from parenting once a month, indulging a new, or long forgotten hobby? or anything that makes you smile, feel renewed and like you matter!

Whatever that looks like for you it is important and necessary! We spend so much time putting others needs first that we thought it was time to discuss how we have both allowed ourselves and our passions take a back seat and how we plan to put ourselves first for once (If only for ten minutes a week to begin with :))

If you aren't 100% then how can you give yourself 100% to others?

Join in the conversation and let us know how you make time for yourself if you have this nailed?

or if you're neglecting yourself and the things that make you shine how will you start the journey to factoring in YOU time?

In this weeks episode we thought we’d explore what it means to become a mum,or dad, there’s loads of similarities between people we know but there’s also huge differences. So as a bit of a twist this week we thought we’d let you take over. We threw the question out there … becoming a parent, what does that mean to you and you have bombarded us with your stories, your journeys, your little window into the world of becoming a parent.

And this week we’re talking about … letting go … at any stage.

From nursery, to school, to letting your child walk to the shops on their own, first driving lesson, first night out, university … with all these things how do you know when they’re ready? And here’s the biggie … ARE YOU READY? Ready to let go a bit, to let them have some independence … to “fly the nest?”

And how do you conceal your nerves so you don’t project your feelings on to them?
