Before we can begin to see the cross as something done for us, we have to see it as something done by us. Jesus, took on our death sentence. But lucky for us, when humanity was at its worst, Jesus was at His best. We call Friday good Friday. The devil calls it bad Friday. It's the day Christ defeated death and gave us life. He yelled "Father forgive them, they know not what they do" because when he was dangling on the cross, he was thinking of you. He was willing to do whatever it takes to restore our friendship with God.
