One single theme is too narrow for great minds and daring hearts. This podcast entails enlightening discourse about excellence in martial arts, health & fitness, love, entrepreneurship, finance, self-development, and leadership. Get ready to Enter the Lionheart, with your host Lawrence Dunning.
Lawrence was born in England, holds a BA Degree in History and an MBA in Finance, from the University of Exeter. After an intense career spanning the derivative trading pits of Amsterdam, Wall Street, and owning his own company at the Chicago Board of Trade, he was a self-made millionaire before the age of thirty.
From there, Lawrence took a lengthy sabbatical after winning the Chicago Golden Gloves and spent the next five years as a professional MMA fighter, and a jiu-jitsu competitor, earning his black belt in 2016.
At 35 years old, after being immersed in his athletic pursuits, Lawrence turned his focus on his professional reinvention in the real estate world. He is the founder of “The Dunning Team”, a real estate group based in Chicago, specializing in ground up developments and helping clients with their investment portfolios. Today, Lawrence continues to teach, train and compete in jiujitsu, as well as run marathons. However, his best accomplishment yet, is raising his young son, and enjoying family life with his two dogs, and adoring wife Jen in Chicago.

Re-Releasing my old episode with the great Geoff Thompson, whose bestseller, "Watch My Back" was. Apivotal book for me, first reading it as a teenage martial artist in England.
Geoff is a man who has lived many lives. In his earlier years he worked on some of the toughest “doors” in Coventry, as a Bouncer, sometimes literally fighting for his life to protect the innocent against the violent (four of his colleagues were murdered during this time).
He went in to become the prolific author of over 50 books, an award-winning film maker, a spiritual teacher, and has been a life-long martial artist.
Geoff wrote two books solely about fear: both overcoming fear and developing a strong mindset to face challenging situations. I remember reading these back when I was fighting in MMA to get my mind ready for combat, but his writings on overcoming fear are useful in almost any endeavor, especially the fear of being an entrepreneur with no steady paycheck.
Geoff has empowered countless people to not only face their fears and improve their personal safety, but to lead happier, more confident lives. And that is what martial arts is about. Leading better lives.
Until next time, love and good vibes.

Susan Saller is an author, speaker, and host of the Small Steps, Big Wins Podcast.
Sue possesses a genuine commitment to courage and confidence that is woven into everything that she does. One of the reasons that I find Sue so inspiring is that she had every excuse not to change, but instead she fought her own demons. They took her to a place where she contemplated suicide for weeks on end. But it didn’t break her spirit. Instead, she emerged stronger and wiser, and eventually she achieved a massively positive transformation at the spry and youthful age of fifty-two!

Today I will be sharing a conversation that I had with my friend Jerry Scarlato on his podcast “The Good Wolf Project”
Today’s conversation is with Lawrence Dunning, a self-made millionaire before the age of thirty. Realizing he had a very small window to pursue his love of the combat sports, Lawrence gave away his trading company and took a lengthy sabbatical. From his love of amateur boxing, after winning the Chicago Golden Gloves, he spent the next five years as a professional MMA fighter, and a jiu-jitsu competitor, earning his black belt in 2016. At 35 years old, after being immersed in his athletic pursuits, and making every financial mistake there was, he saw his net worth evaporate. Lawrence then turned his focus on his professional reinvention in the real estate world. He is the founder of “The Dunning Team”, a real estate group based in Chicago, specializing in ground up developments and building investment portfolios for his clients. Today, Lawrence continues to teach, train and compete in jiujitsu. He just completed his goal of being the first jiujitsu black belt to have run a marathon on all 7 continents (including Antartica).
He hosts “Enter the Lionheart”, his podcast about excellence amongst entrepreneur, athletes and intellectuals. And recently published his book "The Forgotten Asset Class" on low risk, high reward,. Real Estate Investing. However, his best accomplishment yet, is raising his young son Victor and enjoying family life with his two dogs and adoring wife Jen. Here’s what we talk about…
• How to look at life through the lens of risk/reward…
• How you’re currently sacrificing your health by valuing gluttony…
• Why Lawrence gave away his multi-million dollar company at age 30…
• The 3 types of mentors you should have in your life…

From a childhood filled with trauma, by 9 years old JC Almanza was already a gang member on the south side of Chicago; by 16 he was running drugs for the Mexican Cartel, and by 17 he was arrested and put in a Mexican Prison. After multiple years of incarceration, he eventually overcame addiction, prison, and personal demons. The catalysts included a year in solitary confinement, meeting his future wife, and finding Jesus.
Today JC is a fitness expert and coach, as well as a mentor to inmates who he helps transition to a life outside prison. JC is a powerful testament that we all have the power to change for the better, even when we have every excuse not to.
As the Arizona state Deadlift champion, JC advocates for simplicity in training, highlighting that one can achieve remarkable results with basic exercises like bench press, squat, and deadlift.
“Forgiveness, especially self-forgiveness, is a cornerstone for personal growth.”

Alberto Crane is a 5th-degree Jiujitsu Blackbelt, UFC Vet, and Owner of Legacy Academy in LA.
Alberto became obsessed with Jiujitsu and moved from New Mexico to Brazil, to pursue mastery in jiujitsu after clarifying his goals when he read “Think and Grow Rich”, by Napoleon Hill.
“Millions of men go through life in misery and poverty because they do not possess the right plan.” (Napoleon Hill)
Alberto didn’t let his early competition success deter him, losing many of his early tournaments before eventually winning the Mundials (Brazilian World Championships) under the mentorship of Jiujitsu legend “Draculino”, before testing his jiujitsu in MMA and winning the King of the Cage title in his third fight.
His life changed when he was diagnosed with MS and was led to believe he was going to spend the rest of his life on pharmaceutical drugs with massive limitations in the future. While still competing in Jiujitsu, and refusing to quit, Alberto discovered Tac-Fit and has found ways to naturally heal his body, ease his pain, and even bring more mental clarity.
Alberto now spends time spreading the practices and benefits of Tac-fit, hosting the Alberto Crane Show Podcast, and teaching Jiu-Jitsu at his schools in California.

A great conversation with Hector Santiesteban, host of the fantastic Modern Masculinity Podcast. We discuss our perspectives on juggling resilience, ambition, and the ever-evolving definition of success as men.
The challenges of the modern man as a parent, and why we both started podcasts as way of self-education through the most difficult and important journey we both face; fatherhood. Balancing being a good father with also being a fulfilled man, balancing so many things but maintaining the romance and shared ideal of marriage.

My long-time friend, Kelly Feldkamp, is one of the smartest people I know when it comes to everything related to health and fitness.
Former athletic trainer and Boston marathon qualifier, Kelly is the mother of 3 young boys, and has taken a huge interest in their health, specifically questioning the standard “vaccine programs” and increasing evidence of links between vaccine batteries and increase autism.
Kelly shares a very educated approach on how she handles vaccines for her children and highlights the need to truly question everything, take sovereignty of our own health and how we treat our bodies.
If there is one thing the last few years has shown it is that all parents should stop the blind faith in institutions that put their profits above health.
And please watch “Pain Killer” on Netflix to understand the people running big Pharma and their lack of regard for ruined lives in pursuit of profits.

It's always a pleasure when I get to talk to my good friend and inspirational polymath, Rocco Jarman. Today we will be exploring the philosophy of self-leadership, as well as Rocco's thoughts on the power of Psychedelics.
You are either riding the waves, being tossed by the waves or you are perhaps making the waves. Either way, there will be waves.
Be relentless in your choosing.
Make for shore.
If you must be undone, be undone at the infinite shoreline, that is where tomorrow begins, that is the event horizon beyond this recurring moment, beyond the threat of new ordeals, where it is right to finally be undone so that we can become something more - at the place where new trials await. It is worth defying even the endless heaving of the entire ocean for this.
A thousand times the waves will come and a thousand times you must say:
“Not today. I am destined for tomorrow.”

Nory became a self-made millionaire by the time he was 30, flourishing in the Chicago Option Trading Pits. In his words: I had the Porsche, the 44mm Panerai, the 4000 square foot loft overlooking the Chicago skyline, a Master Craft docked in front of my Michigan lake house, investments, rental homes and an ego to match it all.
Fast forward to 40; I’m living in New York, bankrupt, car repossessed, evicted from my apartment, selling all of my Herman Miller furniture, watches, and my children's IKEA bunkbed - all while fighting for custody of my children.
It was positive thinking that saved his life. This is the story of his comeback.
“Things can go from so right to so wrong in an instant or a decade. My Story is about depression, love, hate, family, divorce and how I went from a suicidal millionaire to a happy broke guy clawing his way back.

Today I will be talking to my friend and jiujitsu teammate, Eugene Bidchenco. Living through the fall of the Soviet Union and surviving the Moldovian civil war, today he maintains with an insane drive for excellence in all aspects of his life.
In his mid-40s Eugene is going as strong as ever, and in the world of jiujitsu that isn’t an easy feat! New Black Belt. A long lifespan, without a long health span, meaning living a long life if I cant do the things that I want to do, doesn’t interest me. That’s why I love people like Eugene who is always trying to be his best self, and is not letting middle age, family or career aspirations detract him from his athletic goals.

Today I will be talking to a charismatic entrepreneur, Daniel Mangena. When Dan was young, he amassed great wealth and then lost it all, not once, but twice. He has published a book on how to think about money, called the Money Game.
Money, for Dan is a medium, and we need to think about it the right way; it's not everything, but it's a useful tool. I think that Dan and I share a similar view of money; for me it's an amplifier. Money can offer great opportunities and enable you to buy back your time and not be stuck doing things you hate, but if you aren’t a happy person, making more money probably won’t make you happier.

Today will be a special episode for me, because I have followed Geoff Thompson since I was a teenage martial artist in England, and I read his first best seller, "Watch My Back".
Geoff wrote two books solely about fear: both overcoming fear, and developing a strong mindset to face challenging situations. I remember reading these back when I was fighting in MMA to get my mind ready for combat, but his writings on overcoming fear are useful in almost any endeavor, especially the fear of being an entrepreneur with no steady paycheck.
Geoff truly has empowered so many to face their fears, improve their personal safety, and lead more confident lives. And that is what martial arts is about. Leading better lives.
Until next time, love and good vibes.

Today, Brad Anastasia and I reflected on “Arnold”, the powerful 3-part documentary about Arnold Schwarzenegger on Netflix; we were both profoundly impacted by so many things the seventy-five year old, self-reflective icon said, as well as the powerful lessons you can draw from his life.
Arnold's journey from an immigrant with a dream to a renowned bodybuilder, real estate developer, actor, politician, and philanthropist is one of the singular most inspiring stories of anyone in history. His relentless work ethic, resilience, and ability to overcome obstacles serve as a testament to the power of ambition and hard work.

Ray Flores is one of the hardest working people in combat sports today. He started his career in the seats of the Hammond Civic Center, doing play by play into a microphone for an MMA broadcast that would air a week later on public access TV.
Fast forward to today Ray has been heavily involved with some of the biggest fights/spectacles of today: Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, Ryan Garcia and Gevonte Davis in Las Vegas, or Jake Paul and Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia. He does it all: play by play, analyst work, host weigh ins, and press conferences.
Ray is a great example of what it takes to achieve success. His mindset is second to none, and no matter what he accomplishes is never sits on his laurels. Ray maintains an incredible blue-collar work ethic, and is always trying to improve by relentless self-analysis. And along the way he remains a strong mentor to the next generation trying to follow in his footsteps. These principles apply to so much more than just broadcasting. They applies to any industry, any career and any dream.
Until next time, love and good vibes.

I sat down with Author David Lawrence to talk about the ideas in his new book: “Are We Really Biochemical Robots: A Critique of Determinism and Sam Harris’ Crusade Against Free Will.”
It was a great conversation discussing whether we are in control of our choices.
While David was clearly on the side of Freewill, unfortunately the state of today’s landscape is the opposite: most current media personalities are determinists. Most internet and podcast pundits are determinists. Most of the renowned scientists who populate new media programming are determinists.
And with that way of thinking, personal responsibility goes out the window. Nobody is responsible for anything because they don’t control anything they do. David is fighting passionately against this and I really applaud his efforts!

It was a pleasure to talk to Collin Hughes, a man that had been a professional Bull Rider, a Pilot and an Actor. He talks about his world collapsing after the suicide of his fifteen year old granddaughter.
How do you stop a stealthy predator that no one sees coming? This predator does not distinguish between young or old, rich or poor, strong or weak, or by the color of one’s skin. This predator goes after anyone who will listen to its message of death.
This predator weaves tales of falsehood deceiving its victims into believing that they are worthless and unable to love or be loved. This predator is one of the most cunning and ruthless serial killers ever to walk this earth.
The predator I speak of is suicide.
Today he is on a new mission to spread the awareness of suicide, especially teen suicide. He also hosts the "Miracle of Tragedy Podcast".

Among her amazing adventures, Monique rode through India for 4 years on a motorcycle by herself. She also collaborated with prominent spiritual teachers like Thich Naht Hahn and the Dalai Lama.

What an honor it was to spend some time talking to one of the most inspiring and fearless men I know! Mark is now recruiting more former US Special Operations Veterans to train both Ukrainian military and civilians to fight the Russians through his nonprofit “The Overwatch Foundation”.
In the last year, “The Overwatch Foundation” has grown into so much more; a humanitarian nonprofit that's been assembling teams of U.S. Military Veterans to provide critical natural disaster relief and urgent humanitarian response communities all over the world. Brad are I are both coming to a close with our competitive jiujitsu careers, and one of my biggest questions is what NEW pursuit is going to fill that void. I am also moving the family to Indiana and rehabbing a house on 8 acres so it will be a massive change of lifestyle.
We are both curious if we will be able to be happy with no athletic goals to chase. It's been such a big part of both of our lives for decades. And the fascinating balance between gratitude (which means you are happy and content) with Aspiration (which keeps you striving to achieve more).

Linda has spent the last decade and a half reprogramming her own brain and now she wants to teach other business owners and professionals how to do the same so they can live a life that feels fulfilling, meaningful and happy.
We talk about the common symptoms of mindset traps, how to move past your head trash, and some of her favorite books she recommends to people looking to “become unstoppable”.
“Change your mindset and see how everything around you changes.”
“The truth is that your subconscious mind (that part that’s hidden away from your awareness) has you under lock and key and until you unlock and shift the core beliefs that are hidden deep within, nothing is going to change.”

Dai Manuel is a keynote speaker, blogger, freelance writer, podcaster, and Crossfit athlete. He proudly embodies being a “super dad” and a husband who never stops “dating his wife.”
At the lowest point in his life, after a late night drinking his woes away, Dai’s wife asked him: "Are you personifying the kind of man you want your daughters to marry?" Her words struck him to the core, and created remarkable shifts in his life for the better. From that point onward, Dai has not touched another drink.
Today, Dai is living his best life. He is 11 years sober and has found clarity and purpose. He quit his oppressive job of 17 years, and now travels the world with his wife and kids. He does his work online now and finds it makes more time for his family as well as his sanity.

Kenny DeGiglio is a passionate advocate for the revolutionary technology of Bitcoin.
Kenny and I discuss his journey towards Bitcoin, how he got started working with Pomp as director of education at the Pomp Crypto Academy, and why he is so damn passionate about Crypto.
Kenny has a wealth of knowledge and often goes back to thinking from First Principles to explain about these revolutionary concepts. We talk about how loose monetary policy (printing money) is silent tax on the people in the form of Inflation. The history of those in power hasn’t been good for the people. And the bitcoin trilemma: tradeoffs between security, scalability and decentralization. Just like life you can have 2 of the 3, but never all 3.
As a huge fan of Pomp, it wasn’t surprising that his director of education was so well versed and passionate about Crypto. Bitcoin truly is a once in a lifetime revolution that can allow us to transport our wealth from 2022 to 2052. We are no longer slaves of a fiat controlled by a rapacious government.

Brad Anastasia joins Lawrence in the studio to discuss some of his top Principles and Tenants for living a fulfilled life.
At the end of life, the things that will matter most to you are:
The experiences you’ve had.
The people you’ve touched and made proud.
The regrets you’ve had.
Regret from inaction is correlated with fear of death. You have to act whenever you have the chance.
“Time is both long and short. On balance you’ll probably live about 90 years (4,700 weeks, 33,000 days) You can do anything, just not everything. Make every day count.”

Jason Merchey has spent the last two decades searching for wisdom: what values and virtues "wise people" tend to be interested in, and how wisdom can play a fundamental role in both improving the lives of individuals (e.g., happiness, success, well-being, etc.) as well as on a societal level (e.g., less tribalism, more critical thinking, fewer extreme positions on religion, politics, and so on).
Jason's fourth book is entitled "Wisdom- A Very Valuable Virtue That Cannot Be Bought" where he combines psychological research, philosophical principles, and personal insights.
He also has a website (valuesofthewise.com) where he built a database of thousands of quotes from past thinkers and philosophers.
Greater wisdom leads to improved personal growth, happiness, and success. In fact, the word philosophy is Greek for “the love of wisdom.”

Lawrence is joined by Nick Lamagna to discuss the real estate market. Since the Fed raised the interest rates 75 basis points last week, and with the highest inflation we have seen in 40 years, the market sentiment has shifted. This also has coincided with a massive “risk-off” trade as investors backed away from equities, commodities and crypto, and the US stock market fell into correction territory. Many investors are taking a wait-and-see approach and there is a lot of uncertainty right now.
Nick has been investing over 15 years and has seen various market cycles at this point. In this episode we go through some of the similarities and more importantly some of the differences we have today, versus in 2008. Is there a real estate crash coming, is it a milder correction or just a brief pause? A month ago was the strongest real estate market in a decade, so it's a very dynamic and hard to navigate environment for investors.

Nick Lamagna juggles being a Real Estate Investor, Brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelt and host of the A-Game Podcast. But Nick didn’t plan his life this way; when he graduated college he wanted to work in law enforcement to help with counter-terrorism. He scored well on all the tests and thought he was a great candidate for his dream job, until he suffered a permanent hand injury, and was disqualified from the selection process.
This initial disappointment forced Nick to rethink his entire purpose in life. His mom gave him “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, which completely changed his view on making money and having a career. In the last decade, Nick has done almost everything in real estate, constantly evolving and learning along the way.
Every challenge forced growth: Nick initially struggled getting mortgages, so he partnered with other real estate investors. He needed more cash, so he started wholesaling. When the 2008 housing market crash happened, he decided to start flipping homes. And now, Nick has scaled into is going into bigger deals. As he travels in search of real estate opportunities, he is constantly honing his craft of jiujitsu at academies all over the country.
Throughout his varied career in real estate (and also as a podcast host) Nick has evolved into being the consummate professional. Some of the wisdom he shares:
Always be Learning and Growing.
Think Creatively.
Get Comfortable being Uncomfortable.
Play the Long Game.
Build a Database of Connections: Clients, Vendors, etc.
Be in Constant Contact with your Team: Communication is Key.
Employ Multiply Strategies.
Travel to Find Opportunities.

As the creator of The Victory Mindset Luke Jensen’s calling is to help people connect with the deeper meaning of their life’s purpose. He seeks to help people understand the meaning of why you do what we do, and who we truly are, to get a clear vision of our purpose and direction in life and career.
The “Why” is often the crucial element in our story. Victor Frankl survived the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps largely due to his often quoted line from Nietzsche: “He who has a why to live for, can bear almost any how.”
Luke’s message is the ultimate one of balance. Nurturing every important pillar so that as a “fatherpreneur” is serving your mission and purpose, living a vibrant energetic love life, setting the right example for your children, being present when you’re with your family, and creating a life that is undeniably yours.

It was a real pleasure to sit down with Sam Dogen, whose blog, “The Financial Samurai” gives a complete picture of maximizing investing across all investment vehicles – equities, bonds, real estate and other assets, like precious art.
Sam spent over a decade working in corporate finance at Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs, before starting Financial Samurai, one of the top independently owned personal finance sites today.
Sam is just about to release his new book: “Buy This, Not That: How to Spend your Way to Wealth and Freedom”. His goal, after he was able to escape corporate America in his mid-30s and live the life that he has wanted for the past decade, was to write a book that could help other people potentially do something similar. That is both a noble and a realistic aim. The wisdom of deep financial knowledge is a true “life hack” that can benefit us all massively.
“Money is too important to be left up to pontification.”
“Once you achieve a certain level of financial independence, where your passive investment income covers your living expenses, the world opens up.”
“The ultimate goal is to move money into the background so you can stop obsessing over it and start focusing on doing things that matter.”
“The longer you zoom out, the easier it will be to stay the course. After I became a father, I found it easier to invest for the long term because now I was no longer just investing for myself.”
“Time is way more valuable than money! Make sure you make the most of each day.”

Lawrence and his good friend Rocco Jarmin discuss Bitcoin, Blockchain, and the Future of Consent. Bitcoin is so much more than just “digital money”, it’s a revolution of freedom; Bitcoin is a technology, it is a currency, and it’s an international network of payments and exchange that is completely decentralized. It doesn’t rely on banks. It doesn’t rely on governments. That is part of the blockchain revolution.
But blockchain technology is so much more than just revolutionizing digital currency - we can use it to improve the world we live in. The blockchain ledger enables us to keep accurate, decentralized ledgers that bring us to a commonly agreed version of the truth that’s more reliable than any truth that we have ever seen. And in today’s world when the trust in institutions, politicians, and the media is at all time historic lows, the blockchain, as a “Truth Machine” could be the savior for the future. Rocco is available at his fantastic podcast “Eyes Wide Open Life”.

He is also a published author, a devoted single father of two lovely children, and primarily motivated by philanthropy. His philosophy in life in always being thoroughly prepared, being competitive and “being the one to beat” applies to any endeavor, not just jiujitsu.
Lawrence and his good friend Nic Gregoradies, discuss Bitcoin and the Cryptocurrency Revolution that we are living through. Money can give us the ultimate freedom to liberate us from the shackles of soul destroying careers; but money has also been inflated away since Nixon left the gold standard fifty years ago. Bitcoin is so much more than just “digital money”, it’s a revolution of freedom; Bitcoin is a technology, it is a currency, and it’s an international network of payments and exchange that is completely decentralized. It doesn’t rely on banks. It doesn’t rely on governments. Bitcoin is the vehicle in which we can step out of our traditional notions of money, which is tied to geography, and nation, controlled by central banks. The freedom of billions of people will be unleashed and there is no question that bitcoin is going to be a larger part of our future.

Rick now seeks to create artistry through jiujitsu, where he trains and teaches at his Jiujitsu school in Wyoming.

Lawrence is joined by Brian Russ, an early adopter of Bitcoin. He is both an unbelievably successful cryptocurrency trader, as well as having a full time career in banking. Its humbling that Brian is willing to share his deep knowledge on Bitcoin, so openly. Brian is a fairly private person, so it was an honor that he came on the show and was so candid about his philosophies and trading style.
Lawrence is joined by Artem Tepler. After coming to America as a child from Communist Russia, Artem soon understood that he could flourish in his new home with the right work ethic and mentality. From his formative years training in traditional martial arts as a boy, and progressing through the belt system to Black Belt in Taekwondo, he developed his “growth mindset”: that anything was possible if he worked hard and grew into his ambitions. After college, his determination for financial success in this “land of opportunities” eventually brought him great wealth from real estate rehabs and development. Like so many, he was overextended during the 2008 real estate crash and briefly went into debt and forced to live in the attic of one of his rental properties. Remembering the track record that brought him his early success, Artem doubled down. He left the West Coast, figuring he might as well be warm if he had to restart his empire. He tapped into his immigrant mentality and inspirational work ethic to propel him into even greater success, moving from smaller rehabs to huge ground up developments. Artem is a voracious reader, a skillful Brazilian jiujitsu practitioner, and is always learning and evolving. He is the epitome of a self-made man.
Lawrence is joined by Brad Anastasia, a former Investment Banker who became so burnt out with the Rat Race, that he quit the Corporate Dream and moved to South America to search for answers on how to live a life worth living. During his years in Argentina and Peru, Brad spent his time learning Spanish, while trying to demystify the elusiveness of happiness. While working in finance he had traded in the currency of money as a yardstick for happiness. Now, amid so much less, he realized that it was happiness itself, that was the ultimate currency. He moved back to the U.S., settling in Chicago, wrote a book that focused on the path to happiness, and started a new life of balance and fulfillment. He realized happiness wasn’t a destination, but rather a journey. We discussed his 8 daily habits to leading a fulfilling life, with happiness as a by-product, instead of a focus.
Lawrence is joined by Kerry Fowler, a former sports journalist and local celebrity who stands out in the crowd with his exuberant charm and energy. But, behind the smiles and laughter, Kerry’s past reveals a traumatic and violent childhood that would drown most people when they've reach adulthood. Kerry discusses how he redirected his pain and trauma towards his love for sports; eventually excelling at sports achievements and finding a career in sports working side by side with his childhood idols. Today, Kerry is known by his peers for being a dedicated and loving father to his two girls. Instead of letting his past childhood trauma shape him, Kerry persevered by utilizing his broken past in becoming the energetic, wise, and fun-loving person he is known to be and an exemplary father and role model to his daughters!

Jay’s world views are profound and inquisitive in nature, and much larger than jiujitsu alone.
Lawrence is joined by Treavor Mosbaugh, a successful financier who never misses his Spartan workouts--a true archetypal of a man who balances his professional and personal successes by staying consistent and principally oriented. Trevor discussed the significant benefits of getting up in the early morning to kick start his day, influenced by one of his favorite books the “5 am club” by Robin Sharma. Trevor is an exemplary human who has created an enviable lifestyle. He continues to grow his professional success and wealth through dedication and discipline, while methodically finding time to pursue his adventurous hobbies and athletic endeavors.
Lawrence is joined by Brian Feldkamp, a man of rare distinction of someone who has never had a “boss” or a regular job in his entire life! Brian started his first mail order business when he was in his teens, then went from franchising fitness training programs to eventually moving to LA and working on his first tech startup. He moved back to Chicago where he started his second tech company, and from then on, started his third, fourth and fifth. His ultimate success is, in the words of Churchill: “going from one failure to another, with no loss of enthusiasm”, learning, growing and developing along the way. He is the epitome of living with the ultimate growth mindset, carefully balancing every new venture on a sliding risk/reward scale. He balances all his business ventures with a spartan daily workout, while being a doting husband, and an involved father to his two handsome sons.
Lawrence is joined by Thomas Huisking, a man blessed with male model looks, with the intellectual capacity and emotional intelligence of a wise old stoic. Thomas discussed his life’s evolution in pursuit of personal and professional success through constant reinvention. Throughout his life, Thomas has been a bodybuilder, fitness coach, actor and producer in Hollywood, music producer, podcast host, and is now a successful Real Estate agent in Los Angeles. He credits his philosophical outlook in life through the writings of Ayn Rann’s “Atlas Shrugged” where he learned the important principles that can lead to a life of success. Thomas is a beacon of positivity and curiosity, and it is always a pleasure when we get to connect!
Lawrence is joined by his former training partner and teammate, Mark Allen. We reminisce about some of our favorite memories from our decade plus in the combat sports world, and how he is dealing with his Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) which he examines in depth, in his fantastic (hilarious, but also gritty, and powerful) new book: “Based on a True, Traumatic, Brain History: A Short Memoir”. Mark is truly “uncommon, amongst uncommon men” and just as I was inspired by his tenacity and fighting spirit when we were gym buddies and gym competitors, I am today inspired by his always positive and pragmatic approach to his “new normal”, and his constant intellectual curiosity. He never allows any self-pity and maintains a growth mindset, along with his strict athlete lifestyle of fasting, constant growth, and commitment to get the most out of this life, regardless of his adversities. It is in hope that Mark’s book and wisdom will encourage the new generation of fighters to train smarter, and not just harder. Through it all, neither of us would change those years and the honor of being Teddy Roosevelt’s “Man in the Arena”.

Mo talks about playing the long game in business, creating as many win-win situations as possible, his love for car racing, martial arts, and testing himself. He discusses how he balances his ambitious goals with his health and mental fitness, and how he mentors so many people around him, without burning out and keeping gratitude for all the good in his life.
In the first episode, Lawrence is joined by his good friend, Nic Gregoradies, founder of the Jiujitsu Brotherhood. Nic talks about how back-to-back ayahuasca experiences in the jungle of the Amazon convinced him to change his current trajectory as a jiu-jitsu instructor in London, in search of a truly fulfilling life. He spent five years traveling the world and gaining immense wisdom along the way. Today, he is settled in Los Angeles, and discusses some of the themes of his latest book, Aligned, and the path to becoming a truly actualized man.
