Written by a brother of Jesus to Jewish Christians, the Epistle of James is known for its practical teaching on Christian living. James 1:1-12 introduces three key topics in this epistle: endurance, wisdom, and the rich and the poor. Through James, the Lord calls us to endure unto maturity (vv. 2-4), seek wisdom from God in faith (vv. 5-8), and seek an eternal crown rather than putting our hope in fleeting riches (vv. 9-12).
