In today’s social culture, the art of debate has been lost. We may reactively cancel or shut out someone whose views are different from ours. As we develop a spiritual vision, we realize that there is no such thing as categorical “friends” or “enemies”. There is Divinity in the heart of every being. By extending our compassionate views, we begin to mutually hear out each other’s points and learn to separate the person from their idea, identity, or group affiliation.
