Before we enter into God’s Kingdom through Jesus (John 10) our spiritual father has been the evil one (the devil/John 8). Think what this means if true. Being born into a world at war leads us to believe lies and to make agreements which ensure we will be caught in various kinds of bondage for our souls. The nature and work of the adversary is to distract us from freedom and to serve him. Jesus, on the other hand, wants us to be free to be joined to Him in friendship as we live out our earth days - preparing us for our eternity to come.
