We live in a time of inordinate stress, rush, and busyness. We find ourselves pushing beyond our limits physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but this isn’t how we’re meant to live. The answer to this problem is to create margin in our life.

Today, I (the Shepherd) talk about margin: the space between your load and your limit. I explain what it is and why we need it, noting that we’re not meant to use up every bit of time and energy doing things. I talk about why creating margin is active, not passive, and I share steps for building margin in your life, explaining why it’s important to accept your human limitations, set boundaries, and make peace with the fact that life is difficult. I share an analogy of a car driving down the freeway, and I call on you to stop trying to make busyness take the place of faith.
