Foreign National sex trafficking rings are large-scale, multi-national, and multi-state. Many are led by females. Many are established for the purposes of money laundering.
Numerous domestic sex trafficking rings are controlled by gangs. But gangs are changing and are using social media to coerce, recruit, groom and arrange sex buying transactions. Some gangs are operating sex trafficking rings from prison.
Social Media is used in 90 percentage of sex trafficking cases. Much of the communication is encrypted.
