In this episode of Deep Dive, I discuss Zoloft, the most commonly used antidepressant in the US, with over 38 million prescriptions per year (probably more now). Two things I forgot to mention in the episode is that Zoloft can be used for a relatively long period of time, from a couple years to even one's whole life. Most times it is best to see if it has helped you after 6-12 months, then you may want to consider coming off the medication. But of course discuss this with your doctor. The second thing was that Zoloft reaches peak plasma at around 4.5-8.4 hours. This means that during this time period after dosing, you should notice the effects the most.
