This is the simple challenge that the Lord burdened me to bring at the start of our 2026 24-hour prayer meeting. As soon as you wake up in the morning, get on your knees and begin praying for your family, your friends, your finances (work)—all before looking at your phone. It can wait. The remarkable backstory to this challenge is that before the prayer time began, I was sitting in the room with one BJU student. We were just chatting small talk for a few minutes until he told me how much his own prayer life had been affected of late. "Oh really? Tell me more," I said. "Well," he continued, "about a year ago, someone challenged me to pray as soon as I woke up. So, I told my girlfriend that we should try it for a week and see what we thought. As soon as I got up the next day, I got on my knees and started praying. I've been doing that for the past year and it has transformed my prayer life." I was stunned, because that was the very challenge I was burdened to give—except I wasn't sure I should give it. The Lord sent the one student to tell me that one story to confirm the burden. Remarkable. You see, I believe we are addicted. Addicted to this little block of glass and metal we hold in our hands. I believe this addiction needs to be broken and we have to begin somewhere, even if it's a baby step. After taking that baby step, take the next. Read your paper Bible and spend time with the Lord. Mrs. Jeanette C. McAllister went into the Lord's presence early Monday morning, April 21, 2025. Born on September 30, 1932, Jeanette was a daughter of the late Leonard and Carrie Cheshire of Gainesville, Florida. Mac and Jeanette were married on February 14, 1953. And together they raised two sons. They began their marriage working in Savannah, Georgia, and then a few years later moved to north Alabama where they resided for over 50 years. They lived in Decatur, Huntsville, and Hartselle. Jeanette worked for Sears for many years while Mac worked for the Goodyear Service Stores. They first met in Gainesville, Florida, while working together at Goodyear. They served as faithful members of several independent Baptist churches in north Alabama. They were members of Bethel Baptist Church in Hartselle, Alabama for many years. Jeanette loved showing hospitality in the home and working outside in her yard, at the church, or Baptist World Missions. She was a great cook and homemaker but in her mature years, would rather work outside. Jeanette was often the "life of the party" with a winsome, humorous personality. This continued through the conclusion of her life. People loved her immensely. She loved the Lord and was always joyful for how good God is. She loved singing in church choirs and in the home! She lived a life of triumph for her Savior over early life obstacles.

As we close out 2024, we reflect on a big year of advances and changes. In many ways, it feels as though we've been walking on water for the past 24 years, endeavoring to keep our eyes on the Lord. What we are doing, humanly speaking, is impossible for a company of our size. Yet, as we continue to move forward and walk on the waters of impossibility, my prayer is that we will not, like Peter, be overtaken by the fear of unbelief, or should I say, disbelief that we could or even should have as our goal something as audacious as "every sermon in every language." If we're serious about this objective, it will require of us to get out of our comfort zone, get out of the boat, and take the necessary steps of faith to be where the Lord is in His mission throughout the world. After years of putting together mockups and designs, and after years of going from concept to code, we have finally removed the Beta label off our site and have launched this massive rewrite as our primary website for SermonAudio! A solid foundation has been laid for the future.The new SermonAudio website is much more than a fresh coat of paint. It takes loads of technology to make it all work—a fresh new design language, a rewritten client-side framework, a corresponding server-side framework, a rewritten API layer, the database, and plenty of caching to keep things running smooth.The entire architecture for the new site is foundationally different from the existing website. It was necessary to do so in order to get off of legacy back-end systems and embrace the newer development tools that today's developers are using.We have been hard at work building out the physical infrastructure needed to guarantee the protection of our expanding library of almost 3 million sermons. Dr. Clarence Sexton went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2023. My mind went to Psalm 116 upon hearing of his death. He was a great personal encouragement to me, and I trust this compilation of sermon clips will continue to be a source of encouragement to all who hear for many years to come.
On December 13, 2023, a protest was staged outside of Manor Community Church where The Foundations Conference by SermonAudio was being held. When we began this day, we knew it was going to be a day of HARDSHIP. But despite that, we determined to make it a day of WORSHIP anyway. God will cause the wrath of man to praise Him. There couldn't be a stronger counterbalance as we sung the words of Psalm 100 & Psalm 46 among others on the other side of the wall.
At the 2023 Foundations Conference, we sang exclusively from our newly-launched Foundations Psalter, based on the 1650 Scottish Psalter. It was a glorious and God-honoring experience.
I had the immense privilege of visiting the land of Scotland. I enjoyed visiting historical sites, worshipping with the saints, and even praying with one of the last surviving eyewitnesses of the 1950 Isle of Lewis revival. But there was one aspect of the trip that caught my attention. There was something particularly edifying about how the Scottish churches sang the psalms.
According to Psalm 19:7-9, God's Word is perfect, sure, right, pure, clean, and true. If this is the case, no human author can outwrite it, outshine it, excel it, or improve upon it. It's already perfect, and purified seven times (Psalm 12:6).
God has given us a divinely-inspired songbook that is meant to be sung through the ages. It unfortunate that many churches have no place for the Psalms in their worship at all. It is for this reason that we embarked on this project to produce one of the most deluxe and affordable renditions of the universally accepted 1650 Scottish Psalter in the hopes that it will appeal to churches far outside any single denomination.
The 1650 Scottish Psalter is crafted with scholarship and devotion by some of the most godly men at the time. It is a GIFT to the English-speaking church and should be embraced as such. It is our desire to reintroduce this treasure of Scripture-based praise back into the worship of God among His people.

As I was reading about the great King Hezekiah in 2 Chronicles 32, it occurred to me that for all of the good and great things he accomplished in his life, he was an engineer at heart. In one short verse (30) we read that Hezekiah constructed a tunnel to bring water from the Gihon Springs down to the Pool of Siloam in Jerusalem. Sounds simple -- but it was actually something of an ancient engineering marvel as it must have taken some serious math and technical skill to have workers dig from opposite ends of the tunnel only to meet perfectly in the middle while maintaining a precise 0.6% grade all the way from beginning to end. This tunnel still exists today. It's little wonder that the princes of Babylon sent to "inquire of the wonder that was done in the land," and that Hezekiah's heart was, as a result, lifted up in pride toward the end of his life.As I think of Hezekiah the engineer, I am reminded of the ever present danger of falling into the same trap of pride amidst all of our technical achievements. I believe it to be the besetting sin of engineers in general. I had a bit of nostalgia as I went through some old family videos. As I saw my wife in those videos, it made me think of "first love" and how we all need to return to it."Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love." Revelation 2:4.As we get busier and busier with life, it is entirely possible to leave our first love. Do you remember a time in your life when you enjoyed the Lord in a "first love" kind of way? What changed? Who changed? The Lord doesn't change. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If anyone has changed, it is us. And the Lord is always the one who bids us return to Him. He is the one that stands at the door and knocks. He wants anyone -- anyone! -- to open the door so that He can come in and, "sup with him, and he with me." Isn't that incredible that the LORD wants to fellowship with us? Friends, I want you to consider your first love today. When we pray for revival, we're simply praying for a restoration of the joy of the Lord -- which is our first love. Translation Submission System (TSS) is a SermonAudio system that allows volunteer translators to assist SA developers in producing a website and mobile applications that support non-English speakers. The website and apps contain various text fragments called strings. As developers work on the website and apps, they add new strings and occasionally modify existing strings. TSS enables volunteer translators to see the English strings, review their translations, and submit improvements to the translations.
On April 20, 2023, Elon Musk launched the most powerful rocket ever built called the Starship. 4 minutes into the launch it experienced a "rapid unscheduled disassembly," according to SpaceX. In other words, it blew up. We had a launch of our own on April 30, 2023. We launched a major piece of infrastructure in The Vault called THE PIPELINE and observed how it was able to handle the full load of Sunday traffic. In similar fashion, what began well ended in a "rapid unscheduled disassembly." This VLOG examines some lessons learned from this initial launch attempt. The Lord is looking for fruit in our lives. Brantley Coile stumbled upon programing in the 70s when he enrolled in an elective Statistics and FORTRAN course as an undergrad at University of Georgia.
His first program was written on punch cards, and once it ran there was no looking back: programming became his life's passion.
After cutting his teeth in the tech industry as a systems developer, he invented Network Address Translation and created the PIX Firewall technologies that were acquired by Cisco Systems in 1995.
He went on to invent the ATA-over-Ethernet Protocol in 2002, a lightweight method of network storage. It was this invention that led to his founding Coraid, Inc., for which he served as CTO until 2013.
In 2014 he founded SouthSuite, Inc., a software-only storage company working to advance AoE for implementation in the modern data center with all its cloud storage needs. SouthSuite will continue to advance AoE technology using its Coraid-branded storage software appliance.

The SermonAudio Technology Lecture Series features informative and educational presentations focusing on the latest advancements and trends in technology utilized by the SermonAudio platform.
For this inaugural lecture, we have invited Brantley Coile, inventor and pioneer in the computing industry, to speak on the topic "Three Godly Men That Changed Computer History." Among his accomplishments, Brantley holds the fundamental patent on the Network Address Translation (NAT) protocol. He also invented the first firewall and load balancer for CISCO.
For this VLOG, we put some focus on our fantastic interns from the Bob Jones University Computer Science Department! Part of our strategy with The Vault is to be in proximity to talented young developers that can benefit from the experience of working with our seasoned developers while enjoying the satisfaction of using their technical skills for the kingdom. What I didn't get to mention in the video is that the RESULT of such an effort was that the fear of God fell upon the surrounding kingdoms. I find that fascinating because the teaching was directed to the cities of Judah. I take that to mean that when the whole counsel of God's Word is faithfully declared to God's own people, the effects will be felt on even the surrounding heathen lands. Over the centuries, as the "book of the law of the Lord" has gone into darkened nations, they have consistently been transformed. In addition, every video has an MP3 automatically generated from it, with the corresponding 3 files. Sermons take up a lot of space and laying the foundation for dependable, scalable storage is key.Through the sacrificial generosity of our wonderful family, friends, and supporters, we have been able to finalize the purchase of all hard drives and storage arrays needed to reach one petabyte of raw storage. But Abijah instructed the armies of Judah to sound the trumpets and give a shout even when they were surrounded and facing imminent destruction. It was only as they praised that God sent deliverance. Sitting down to read the Bible without distraction is becoming increasingly difficult. We sustained a cyberattack this week that took down one of our servers hard. As a result, we had to shutter some of the more legacy features of the site. It's been a very trying week, but we are finally climbing out of the hole. Amidst all the destruction, we didn't lose a single sermon. I'm thankful for God's mercies.
We continue to monitor the construction progress of The Vault on the campus of Bob Jones University. This is Spring Break week at BJU so many of the buildings are locked down, including the Mack Building. --The mission of The Vault can be summed up in three words---1. Infrastructure-2. WE ARE TRYING TO CREATE SPACE FOR THE ENTRANCE OF THE WORD.----Sometimes it feels we are living in a constant state of noise and distraction -- our world, the news cycle, social media, entertainment, technology, politics, churches, school, friends, and busy-ness of home life.----IT'S LIKE TRYING TO LIGHT A FIRE IN A WHIRLWIND.----We need to create space of stillness so that we can meditate on the Word.----During combat, there are times when you need to create a perimeter to give your group breathing space.----We are similarly in a war where the enemy of our souls is hard at work to disable or weaken every believer, to weaken the entire efforts of the kingdom.----WE'RE CREATING A PERIMETER.----Why one hour per chapter- To force us to slow down and learn to meditate.----Either you can quickly get to the end of the chapter and stare at the blank page, or you can read slower, and re-read, meditate, and contemplate, chew, digest, and glean. This takes time. The Bible is not fast food.----READ WITH ME.----You're not meant to be reading what's on the screen. This past week, construction officially began on The Vault in the Mack Building of Bob Jones University. This project represents our effort to safely preserve the 2M- sermons found on SermonAudio from the threat of cancellation in the world of Big Tech.----It should be of great concern to every church that the level of hostility toward Christianity is escalating. The logical culmination of this hostility will be to silence the most offensive message of all, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, along with the plain teachings of the Bible.----There is a long-term, secure storage facility tucked away in the side of an icy mountain above the Arctic Circle between Norway and the North Pole, called the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, or more commonly referred to as the Doomsday Vault. Its purpose is to house all of the world's seeds securely so that in the event of an apocalyptic situation or a global catastrophe, the seeds will be preserved to allow nations to grow various foods again.----We would like to build a -doomsday vault- of our own. Except in this vault, we would be housing the good seed of the preached word in the event of a catastrophic breakdown in relations with cloud providers and platforms. The bottom line is simple. As we witness case after case of Big Tech cancelling voices that do not agree with their progressive agenda, churches will increasingly need to find a friendly platform that will safeguard their ability to proclaim the truth. The Foundations Conference is fast-approaching. Here are some last-minute conference tips. We hope to see you soon---1. Make sure you REGISTER.-2. Make sure you COME EARLY.-3. Make sure you COME PREPARED.--It's pretty important that you come EARLY so that you give yourself enough time to find parking, locate the Welcome Center, check-in, and not feel rushed. Take a look at the SCHEDULE for both days and give yourself plenty of time. We will have ample refreshments and hot coffee along with a large selection of BOOKS from Banner of Truth. Come early and avoid the rush.--It is equally important that you come PREPARED in spirit, mind, and body. This will be a very concentrated two days of preaching and prayer. Please come prepared to attend every session to be an encouragement to the speakers and to find a special blessing for your own soul. You will not want to miss anything. As Christians, we need to be in the business of encouraging one another in the Lord. Here I recount some ways that I received encouragement and how we need to give the same. Registration for the Foundations Conference closes Nov 18.
September 23, 1857 was a very important day in church history. It was the first day of the Fulton Street Prayer Meeting. One of the striking features of those prayer meetings was Christian unity and love. We had a taste of such joyful unity this day as some in our own United Prayer group got to meet in-person.
It's been a while since we last posted any update. But thankfully, we are still moving forward. Covid has created a lot of uncertainties with the cost of commercial construction. As mentioned previously, God has brought to the school a generous donor to help fund a significant amount but not the entire cost. Construction will be contingent on it being fully funded so we will continue to trust the Lord for the rest. The goal is to begin physical construction in May 2022.--We will continue to take another step.
