Why did Jesus have to die on the cross?  This is the question we look at in a sermon called "He Took Our Place" as we examine the pattern God set up throughout Scripture to show us that we are sinners and deserve punishment but that God always provided a way for something or someone else to take that punishment.  This incredible truth - that he took our place on the cross - is the key point in understanding Christianity and the salvation we have through Jesus Christ.
