This sermon is the beginning of a new sermon series called "The Plan from the Beginning" in which we will look at roughly the first half of Genesis (chapter 1-22). Often we approach the book of Genesis with questions about how everything was made. Certainly the book of Genesis has a lot of information about how God made everything, but what if it is seeking to answer an even more important question? I believe the question we should have when we read Genesis is "why did God make everything?". This is a question about God's purpose and plan in creation. A purpose and plan we can see from Genesis all the way through to Revelation. It is a plan that involves us today learning to live for the same purposes for which God created the world.

This sermon begins the series by looking at just one very important verse, Genesis 1:1, and in this verse we begin to see the plan God had from the beginning.
