What does it mean to listen for and to the voice of God? What does it means to look for and see his hand at work? What does it mean to respond to him when you do see and hear those things?
What are some examples in our churches and world of what happens when we no longer listen and watch for God?
What was the situation in Israel? What about in Israel’s priesthood? How did sight and hearing play into the core questions at stake?
What two opposite interpretations come from the idea of the lamp of the Lord having not yet gone out? Does that give any hope to you in our world today?
What was different about Samuel, and what impact did that have?
