we spoke of textbook exercise physiology and science, metabolism and nutrition. we hopefully went over the basics that is taught and all protocols are based upon . as well as metablic testing that includes lactate threshold, VO2 max and substrate utilization.
i should add that though he is a professor at ASU, what he’s sharing does not represent the university. always have to add those disclaimers these days.
he’s a multi sport athlete himself, and we get into his background in what had him pursue this profession and research, as well as cover some of his races, training and events he’s completed.
as always, there are a lot of areas we could go down a rabbit hole on with these topics, to further clarify things- wether they be hot topics or maybe misunderstood, to try and identify the benefits and shortcomings to certain approaches based on individuals - goals, health status, and a whole multitude of other factors.
