In Psalm 26, David calls on Jehovah to vindicate him and not count him with evildoers.This looks forward especially to David, redeemed from all sin and living in God’s kingdom. Then, in Psalm 27, Yahweh is David’s light and salvation, and so he does not fear his enemies. He wants to dwell in the temple, the house of the LORD, all the days of his life, which he will do in God’s kingdom. Jehovah will be faithful to him even if his father and mother forsake him. He urges all to do as he does and wait on Yahweh.
