In Psalm 36, David considers that the rebellious have no fear of God, at the same time flattering themselves that they have no need of him. He considers their wicked words and schemes, and yet contrasts this to the grace God has for those who serve Him. He will satisfy them with good. Then, Psalm 37 is an acrostic psalm, exhorting to patience in well-doing in spite of the temporary prosperity of the lawless. He urges not to get angry about the evildoers or jealous of their success, for their end will come suddenly. Trust in the Lord and delight in Him, rather. The wicked will be cut off, but the righteous will inherit the earth, which will be a delight to behold in God’s kingdom.
