PA485 Psalm 51:1-19 mp3

In this message, we study David’s great penitential psalm after his terrible sin with Bathsheba and murder of her husband Uriah. David calls on God to purge away his iniquity and his sin, to prove Himself righteous by fulfilling His promise of forgiveness to David. He desires to be purged clean from his iniquity. He calls on God to create a clean heart and a renewed spirit within him. He urges Him not to take His Holy Spirit from him, as He had from Saul before him. He wishes for the joy of his salvation back. He asks to be purged from bloodguiltiness. Finally, he asks God to do good for Zion, all His people.
