In this message, we consider Psalm 48 for the sons of Korah, celebrating Zion, the City of the Great King, at the start of the kingdom of God. The kings assemble there and are awed to be at this great city. They have heard of it, but now they see the city of their God, while Israel meets in His temple. They spread word of this city throughout the earth. The visitors are advised to go about the city and mark well its features so they can tell their children in time to come what the city of God is like. Its God will reign to longest duration, guiding Israel even through death.
