Percival Everett, professor of English at the University of Southern California is a legend of Black American literature having written a library of novels and shirt story collections from the 80s to today. The Fix is a story of power and kindness that hits hard in a soft kind of way. The Fix features in the short story collection called Damned If I Do. The collection of 12 stories explore the human condition in direct and abstract ways. Some are surreal, others supernatural, some grounded and quiet. All are political, dealing with race and cultural divides within modern America.
