As a teen-ager growing up in the fire and brimstone Pentecostal church I listened to many-a-sermons that literally instilled the fear of hell in me (lol)! Despite that there would be some that found a home in my spirit and one Sunday evening the subject came from John 5 and it stuck with me. It resonated and gave me hope, permission to believe, trust and expect miracles. Even if you have a different belief, it is an encouraging story about "believing."

John 5

1. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”  7. “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”

The next verse gets me! It pushes me into a realm that eliminates the limitations of what the world says I am, “we” are capable of. 8. Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your sick bed and walk.”  9. At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.

This just so happens to be one of my most popular messages. Everyone has a message, a quote, and a one liner that motivates them, keep them going, reaching, pursuing and flying into the limitless skies despite the pressures of life. “L.I.V.E beyond limitation” does that for me. I whisper this to myself as a mantra, I meditate on it and I pray it in my prayers.
