Our human nature is to believe the worst about a situation before believing the best. Our world has a way of tainting our view for the worst. The television news is full of strife and conflict, and it is easy to become downcast and worry about how we will make it through the events we see played out every day. We must remember that God’s plan for us is that our world is only temporary. Life will teach us things if we are paying attention, but if we are not paying attention, we will not learn the lesson and will have to live it repeatedly until we do. Paul, writing to the church at Phillipi, tries to help them understand how to deal with the world in which they lived. Brother Hughes uses Paul’s letter to reveal three transforming truths.
