Often in life the things we think should happen do not. We often have a vision of how life will go, and it does not always go that way. Life can change in a moments notice and life can turn upside down. Life is filled with the unexpected. No matter what we may be facing, we are all blessed. Even though we may be facing the trial of our life, we are still blessed people. As thankful as we are for the blessings of God in our life, we need to be even more thankful for what God will do in the future. Bro. Hughes declares that our best days are before us not behind. God has a purpose for our life. Often times the hard part for people to believe that God wants to do good in our life. Many people do not see the hand of God in our life due to the process that He uses to bring about his purpose. The things that He allows to happen, or blocks from happening confuse us. Bro. Hughes tells us that the process God uses is just as important as the outcome. For many people, when they begin to meet resistance or adversity in life, they begin to question God’s process. Any time we go through a trial, we learn something about ourselves. These lessons help us to get to the place where God wants us to be. We have to learn to live through what we are going through. Often when we begin to go through a trial, our first response is to ask God: Why? We think that we may have done something wrong. We feel that we are being punished. We ask, “Why would God allow something like this to happen?” It is because the process is what will make us a better person. The process of sifting refers to the harvesting of wheat where the chafe is removed from the grain. When the sifting is done, the parts that are not needed are removed, and what is left is the grain. The process is required to remove the trash and other parts that are not needed. God’s processes are often designed to remove those things that we do not need from our life. The sifting is for our good. Whatever is removed by God’s process is not needed for what He wants us to become.
