• You don’t measure a hospital by its health but by its help; the church is a hospital
• People are in the pit needing answers
• God hears when you call; don’t be afraid
• Pit: miry clay-quicksand you cannot get out of yourself.  Also where human refuse is thrown... prophets were thrown into.
• When God hears you cry out to Him from the pit, He lifts you up and gives you a new song.  The pit is a prerequisite for a new song.
• God is not looking at your shortcomings or failures
• God has a good plan in spite of what you’ve done; there is nothing God cannot do
