Is it wrong for a follower of Jesus to be ambitious? Is it wrong to want to be your department supervisor? Is it wrong to want to start your own business or write a book? If I’m trying to learn to live and love like Jesus, should I abandon all personal ambition? The short answer is no, ambition in and of itself is not wrong. But, I think in order to answer that question we need to clarify something:
