On this edition of What's Your Point? are stories of Nelson Mandela, and Marcus Garvey.
Nelson Mandela, the Black African freedom fighter who later became President of a democratic South Africa spent twenty seven years of his life in prision in his native land because of his hatred, and fight against the racist Apartheid system in his homeland. Many would have given up and renounced their opposition to the dreaded Apartheid system for their release from prison. Nelson Mandela stuck with the fight. While he was in prison, his then wife Winnie Mandela led the charge on the outside of that prison's walls for her husband's release, and the lifting of the wicked racist system of Apartheid.
Marcus Garvey, the first Natonal Hero of Jamaica, was a great Pan-Africanist and visionary. He encouraged Black people to leave the West and repatriate to the Mother Land, Africa. During his time in the United States, Garvey had millions of followers. He taught Black people to love themselves.
