The Story - Exodus 1-7; 10-17: Know those movie scenes where someone is trapped or tied up, and the tension mounts because at any moment disaster could overtake them? We get caught up in those scenes because we can relate. We can feel trapped, or in some kind of bondage, and desperate to find a way out. In Chapter 4 of The Story, the Israelites are in a seemingly hopeless, oppressive situation; being worked ruthlessly by cruel Egyptian task masters. But as the narrative unfolds, we see God's jaw-dropping plan to set them free. Does God have a plan to free you and me? Does the bondage that we find ourselves in today – however that looks – have the last word? This weekend we'll look at this epic story and discover that because of God's Deliverer, we're no longer slaves.
