When my husband and I started dating, I noticed that we had very little in common. But as I grew to love him, I also grew to see the beauty and value in the things he loved. I adjusted my tastes and interests, not because I wanted to be like him, but because I began to see through his eyes.
Adjustments are happening all the time. Even the earth shifts a little, though imperceptibly, every day. We must be flexible and adjust moment to moment with the activities and needs of the day. If I resist the need to adjust, I may eventually find myself in the middle of a huge shift that feels like an earthquake.
Every time something is new and unfamiliar, there is a need to shift. Daniel, on our call today noted that some prehistoric animals were not able to adapt to their new habitat and they became extinct. Businesses who are not able to adjust with new trends become extinct. Dreams and aspirations that are so rigid that they cannot adjust to current opportunities get swept aside or die altogether.
We must be able to adjust to bigger vision as the landscape changes. Even small adjustments like the clothing we wear or our posture, make a huge difference in aligning ourselves with a new level of achievement.
Just as an airplane is making constant adjustments based on external (weather) and internal (mechanical) forces, we too, have external and internal forces that would take us off course. Maintain focus on your desired destination and be flexible enough to adjust whatever is necessary to stay on course.
Today, I Give Myself Permission to Flow With Opportunity
