My husband and I watched a silly light-hearted comedy movie last night, for a specific purpose. To diffuse a negative situation.
I had received an email response back after inviting a friend to participate in one of my top-level private mentoring programs. She said she was offended at the offer. I still don’t know exactly what the offending part of my genuinely caring email was. But that is how she perceived it.
It hurt. Sometimes, I can just shrug it off because I know it is their stuff. But she is a friend and I have seen her struggling in victim energy one too many times. I knew I could help, and couldn’t not offer. Apparently, she is not yet ready to let go of the victim choice. Even I was a victimizer in my sincere offer.
Laughter is a purge. It’s pushing energy outward. Holding something in is inward energy, and I didn’t want that hurt feeling to turn into a physical problem within my own body. I know there is power in letting go. So that’s why I choose a light-hearted comedy to diffuse the energy and my thoughts.
We do not have to struggle through life. We do not have to hold onto energy that makes us sick and tired. Christ has offered to take all our burdens from us. That doesn’t sounds like a God who honors struggle and pain as a necessary part of our existence.
The spirit is joy, love, connection. Our job is to bring our bodies into alignment with what already exists and has already existed.
