“Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up.”

— A. A. Milne

Dear Boss,

This quote simplifies what we often complicate. I define organization as the thoughtful accommodation of things. Being organized is critical to our ability to be productive in our home/work life. Yet, it is an aspect of our lives that often gets overlooked. We want the end results without the inconvenience.

That is why we go about our day without giving much consideration to the placement of what we produce or collect. The office supplies that we ordered, the files that we no longer need, the half eaten bag of chips... Everything gets pushed to the side for another time. We will get to it when we get to it, right? Right!

As time progresses, we find ourselves inundated by a monstrosity of clutter. Tasks that should have been completed in a matter of minutes has taken hours. Items can no longer be retrieved because we do not know where they are. Instead of operating like a well tuned machine, we are likened unto an antiquated piece of equipment...

Let me stop right here. The intended purpose of this Admin Moment was to encourage you to get to your spring cleaning. Instead, it is sounding like one of my tangents. Probably because disorganization is one of my pet peeves. I find it difficult to focus in such an environment. That is why the first thing that I do when tackling a new project is to organize the space. Everything else just seem to flow from there.

If you are anything like me, you know of a few individuals who could use some organization in their life. Just so you know, not only can your admin organize your work life, we also have the capability to organize your home life.

Until the next time,

Enjoy your day on and with purpose!
