We must not treat the Lord as only our Savior who takes away our sins and requires nothing from us. He is also our Lord. When he speaks it is with the weight of absolute authority. His word is to be obeyed and not watered down, compromised and changed to fit our own human desires and will.
“Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth.” (Revelation 1:4-5)
