Hour 1:
The Jets will fight to keep their season alive in awful weather tonight and Boomer is still basking in the glow of Carlos Correa. Boomer and Gio both love how Steve Cohen will eat a bad contract to improve, like the Mets did with James McCann late last night. Why won’t the Yankees do the same thing with Josh Donaldson or Aaron Hicks? The Yankees don’t operate the way they used to and Gio says nobody cares about “buying a championship” if you actually win. The days of the Mets being buried in September are over. Gio found the Yankees press conference to be “flat-lining” and Boomer says they were overshadowed by the Mets. Gio learned about the multiverse and black holes yesterday and is now questioning everything. James Dolan had a girl scout mom kicked out of Radio City Music Hall. Jerry starts the update with sound from Aaron Judge’s press conference. He’s the new captain of the Yankees. Doug Pederson respects the Jets defense and the Jets and Giants have a combined six Pro-bowlers. The Nets had one of the best first-halves in NBA history during their seventh straight win. The Knicks eight game winning streak was snapped against the Raptors thanks to 52 points from Pascal Siakam. Wally Szczerbiak and Tyrese Haliburton are feuding. In the final segment of the hour, we discuss how Jets Jaguars somehow became an important late-season Thursday night game. Gio says it will be like watching a movie because of the weather. Boomer describes what it’s like playing in the wind, rain and snow.
Hour 2:
Boomer visited Gunnar yesterday after the show and remembers with Gio what it’s like to move. He has an unfortunate parking garage story to share as well. Gio has his own story about buying gifts for a baby. It’s the thought that counts. Then we try and find out if a Hal Steinbrenner quote on WFAN’s twitter page is real, because it’s juicy, and learn a new WFAN employee did a great job covering this yesterday. Jerry returns for an update and the guys try to figure out how many MLB teams have a chance to win the World Series. Aaron Judge was re-introduced to the media yesterday and named captain of the Yankees. Evan called a caller a “jealous little bitch” and Brian Cashman continues to defend Josh Donaldson. In the final segment of the hour, WFAN Digital Content Producer Ryan Chichester calls in to explain how he was apparently the only person to write about a big Hal Steinbrenner quote from Wednesday.
Hour 3:
Boomer wants to see the Jets find a way to win Thursday. Be tough, be gritty and win. One area to watch will be the kicking game in the crazy weather. Gio says the goal for the Jets right now should be winning to make week 18 against the Dolphins matter, then worry about making the playoffs. Jerry returns for an update and we discuss Christmas shopping for wives and families before looking at prices of concert tickets and explaining what happened between the Giants and Carlos Correa. The Nets kept their win streak alive but the Knicks couldn’t do the same. In the final segment of the hour, Gio reads Jacob deGrom’s ad thanking Mets fans and Boomer discusses how some things have changed from his playing days to now.
Hour 4:
The final hour begins with breaking resolution on why the Giants were spooked by Carlos Correa’s medical records. Then Joe Gurrera, owner of Citarella, calls in to share his thoughts on Correa. The NFL announces that Sunday Ticket is moving to YouTube next season. Then Jerry has his final update of the morning. Carlos Rodon will be introduced next hour and Scott Boras will be there. Will Carlos Correa questions overshadow the event? We find out Gio is the only member of the show familiar with West Side Story. In the final segment of the show, we discuss how our studios and newsrooms will need to add smart TVs in order to stream NFL games.
