Hour 1:

It’s a no negativity day as it’s Opening Day 2023 in Major League Baseball. Hope springs eternal on March 30th. The Yankees open at home and Anthony Volpe gets his first start at shortstop. Gio said the Yankees had been ‘stale’, but Volpe is bringing them new life. The Mets open in Miami today and Boomer said they absolutely have to make the playoffs. Jerry is here for his first update but first Gio tells us he’s having a rough morning so far after a rough night of not sleeping for no reason at all. Tiki & Tierney will be live from the Hard Rock at Yankee Stadium. Buck Showalter talked about expectations for this season. Jacob deGrom gets the start for the Texas Rangers today. The Knicks beat the Heat but lost Julius Randle to an ankle injury. The Nets beat the Rockets in Brooklyn. And the Islanders won again. In the final segment of the hour, a caller wants us to tell his boss that he should be able to go to Yankees Opening Day. Boomer talked about the last Opening Day at Shea and going to the game with Craig.

Hour 2:

Gio said Spike seems very nervous about this live show. Gio ran into Craig Carton on the street yesterday and had a brief conversation that wound up on the air. How many hits do the Mets get against Sandy Alcantara? We talked about Justin Verlander being 1-6 in the World Series. We talked about the various entrance songs for Mets relievers. Jerry returns for an update and says he’s never been to an Opening Day. He has no interest. Gerrit Cole talked about Anthony Volpe and adrenaline on opening day. Mets GM Billy Eppler is pumped about opening day. The Knicks lost Julius Randle to an ankle injury but they beat the Heat. Joel Embiid talked about winning or not winning the MVP. The Islanders won again. In the final segment of the hour, YES Network now has a direct to consumer way to watch the Yankees without having a cable subscription.

Hour 3:

Keith Hernadez of SNY calls in to talk about Mets Opening Day and the effect of the pitch clock on the broadcast. They also talked about the shift and how teams will try to get around it. Jerry returns for an update and has sound from Gerritt Cole on his impressions of Anthony Volpe. Buck Showalter talked about the NL East being loaded this season. Mets GM Billy Eppler talked about needing to build up the farm system. The Knicks beat the Heat last night at the Garden. A caller wants to know how Boomer fits in the bathroom at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. This turns into another discussion about Boomer’s schwein. In the final segment of the hour, Gio wonders who he can bring to the box at the Yankees game. Dan in Carteret checks in and he’s already in the Bronx. Dan said he is sitting with Craig Carton at today’s game.

Hour 4:

Gio said Josh Donaldson and Aaron Hicks better get off to a hot start or the fans will be all over them. What happens if you text the Yankees? Then they’ll have your number to spam text you all day. A caller said Knicks Head Coach Tom Thibodeau’s hair is distracting to watch. What should he do about his hair? Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Yankees having an official podcast now. Gerrit Cole talked about being on the battlefield or something. Jerry has the Yankees lineup for today. John Mara references Bono in a quote. The Knicks beat the Heat. In the final segment of the show, Gio hasn’t gone to the bathroom in two days so Boomer shakes him up. Al called the town of Bradley Beach to report a neighbor’s messy property.
