John the Baptist shows up after 400 years of silence for the Israelite people and shouts in the wilderness, "Repent, for the kingdom is near." So when he calls people to repent, what is he calling them to do? And why? One more question, why does this matter during Advent? Join Ps Brandon alongside Liv, Ben, and special guest Donnie Adams on our weekly Advent Huddle Podcast.
We'd love for you to join or create an Advent Huddle. Just a small group of friends talking each week around the key themes of Advent... for 15min on the phone or a good long coffee in the morning. You decide when and where. We just want this season to be an intentional time as a community.

Something sacred transpires in us when we remove ourselves from all that life constantly begs of us and place ourselves into the secret place of silence. In Matthew 3, John the Baptist makes his home in the wilderness and shows us that the way to commune with our King is to remove ourselves from all of life's comforts, treasures, and normalities. He also declares that access and inheritance to the Kingdom at hand comes by way of repentance. What is repentance? Why is the desert significant? How can we return to the desert and hear from God again? -- #c3fortworth #seejesushere #advent #fortworth #streetsandhearts #c3churchglobal To discover more about C3 Fort Worth, find a community, or give to the vision you can visit c3fortworth.com/hub. —— Are you a guest with us? Is Advent that chocolate calendar you get every year? Isn't only for Catholics? Maybe it's just a pre-cursor to Christmas? Join Pastor Brandon, Liv, and Ben as they discuss what Advent is, how they experienced (or didn't) the season of Advent growing up, and how they're journeying through this season now.

We have all experience midnight moments in life. Times where the dark feels so overwhelming and unending. What do we do when we find ourselves in what some have called 'The Dark Night of the Soul'?
Pastor Brandon spends a few minutes talking with Pastor Simon Mcintyre about how you and I can keep walking, see Jesus, and even discover more of our faith in the midnight moments of life.
Ps Simon on the Global Executive Team with C3 Church Global and currently oversees all C3 Americas churches. Find out more at www.simonmcintyre.net/.

Midnight has come and the dawn has broken through. Jesus is risen! What time of day does Jesus rise? Are we more like Mary, John, or Peter when we discover the empty tomb? What if midnight is when God does some of his greatest work?
Listen to Ps Brandon Cole unpack John 20 and the story of an empty tomb and the savior mistaken as a gardener.

So Jesus rides into Jerusalem on what we now call Palm Sunday, a week before he is crucified, to a cheering and jubilant crowd. Possibly the same crowd that yelled, "Kill him" later in the week. But what about that donkey he rode in on? Is Jesus sending a message by riding in on a donkey? And how does Jesus handle the crowds that cheer or condemn him? Is he crowd pleaser?
Listen as Ps Brandon Cole opens up John 12 to preach about the crowds and the donkey.

What does Jesus answer when two Greeks, notorious for searching out all the latest and greatest religions, ask to see Jesus? His answer is far from what his followers would have expected. And yet it tells us exactly how we should all see Jesus.

What does power look like in the Kingdom and how did Jesus engage in the politics of his day? On the earth we try to obtain power and politic for position. Jesus had a unique way of navigating both. Join us as we discuss the Patter of Jesus: Power + Politics.

We sit down to have an honest, open, and faith-centered conversation around politics in our current cultural climate. Answering questions on how we engage, disagree, and even decide how to vote.

It can be difficult, especially today, to keep our faith while engaging in politics. With a culture that seems divided on every issue, is ready to categorize or demonize others at every turn, and seems further from ‘united we stand’ than ever before, how do we as followers of Jesus bring him into the political conversation?
We are extremely excited to welcome Justin Giboney, co-founder of The AND Campaign, to answer these and other important questions in those season and beyond.

As we start into our latest Pattern of Jesus: Seeds & Seasons, we learn that this has been a pattern from the beginning. What we sow, we will reap. And God's desire for us is to bear fruit in each and every season of life. To be a church that produces even in seasons of drought and difficulty. How can you, me, and us be the church that produces in each season like Psalm 1 says? We're glad you're here to worship and grow together.
We are so excited for you to hear this word from our friend, Pastor Colin Blois, who with his wife Beth are launching C3 Philly this year.

So we love the idea and focus on the table. It has been so much of the heartbeat and lifeblood of our community. But what about church on Sundays? Can't we simply gather around the table and call that church? Technically, yes. But what do we miss out on if we don't see them both as important and vital to a life of faith and following? Listen as Ps Brandon speaks to the question that many in our day are asking, "Why do I need to go to church?"
Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/c3fortworth/message
"They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved." Acts 2:46-47
In Acts 2 we see an amazing statement, "Every day their number grew..." But where did it happen? At the temple or around the table? What about the distance between the two? What if God places more value on the journey from temple to table then we do. How can we make sure that we are seeing the distance beetween as an opportunity for people to see Jesus?

We do not withdraw to run but to return. To come back into our world, our streets, and our relationships looking more like Jesus. We are not escaping from our lives but preparing more for them. What will you return with? Ps Brandon hits three key things that happened when Jesus would return from prayer.
Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/c3fortworth/message
When Jesus withdrew in Luke 5, we see the word 'wilderness' used in some translations. A word that speaks to things lacking cultivation or off limits to most. But this is where Jesus went to pray. In this message, Ps Brandon speaks to what happens between the withdraw and the return. When we go into a place of silence or solitude, what is running wild in the wilderness of our lives? The places we rarely go or hide from others.
It is in the wilderness that God wants to begin to heal, renew, and strengthen you. When you return to normal, everyday life the wilderness is not scary but has actually strengthened you.

This year we will focus on the Withdraw & Return pattern of Jesus. That we leave to pace and demands of life to abide in the peace and power of Jesus. It is what Jesus did even as the crowds surrounded him and the sick came to him.. he often withdrew to pray (Luke 5:16).
Check out our digital prayer guide or download the pdf.
As John Mark Comer says, “In the chaos of the urban, digital age, it’s easier than ever before to “gain the whole world, and yet lose your soul.” How do we stay emotionally and spiritually alive and awake? Among the ancient practices of the way “silence and solitude” is the number one practice for apprenticeship to Jesus. Simply put, it’s a moment of intentional time in the quiet to be alone with God. In the modern era, this just might be the first step to a life well lived.”

This year and as we continue our journey toward 2020, our hope is for our city to Jesus in you, me, and us. To see Jesus in the stories of people who have overcome, found identity, discovered calling, and find freedom in community. We are convinced that the more you, me, and us look like Jesus, the more our city will. The more our streets will. The more our neighborhoods, workplaces, and families will.
Jesus will be our pattern. Our model. We will create space in our lives through the patterns of our life to see and become like Jesus. Our posture will be upright as we see him and we will go into every place of our lives looking like Jesus.
We believe we were born for more than just the status quo, and the world is in desperate need of people who will be front-footed their generosity and faith. By committing to give faithfully and freely, we step out to see lives changed for eternity and the church shining brightly as a light to the city!

Why are we here? And who are we while we're here? This week we stepped into a new series around living a life of purpose and calling. But we wanted to make sure we didn't get ahead of ourselves.. so we started at step one. For every destination, there is a call to transformation. Listen as we get into one a key idea when it comes to calling... the forming of our lives happens in the following of Jesus.
This will inspire, encourage, and challenge you to step into a new, unlimited life.

One of the hallmarks of the people in Acts was boldness when empowered by the Holy Spirit! Is that what our life is marked by? How can we exhibit boldness as we live out our lives being led by the Holy Spirit? His fullness in our lives should bring about boldness in our life.

Jesus said wait. He said it would be better when he left. That the disciples would receive POWER when the Holy Spirit shows up. But what happens? Why is it better? Why should we wait?
Because as the Holy Spirit works in our lives, He produces fruit and gives gifts. Both different. Both necessary.

We are a culture that obsesses about the shape of our lives. Do we have this or that? Did we look the part? Do I have enough talent or gifting? But what if that wasn't what it was all about? What if God had plans for what would actually give your shape LIFE!
In Genesis 2 and in Acts 2 we see God breathe into the shape of Adam and the shape of the church. It wasn't until he breathed life into the body of Adam and the body of Christ that we saw them go to work.
We can't wait to spend a few weeks around the Holy Spirit!

As we transition from our Teach Us To Pray series to a series of talks around the Holy Spirit, we look at the way Jesus ends his teaching on prayer in Luke 11. He says, "If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
Jesus wanted us to know, that when he left this earth He would send the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and shape our lives. It was almost as if he wanted us to pursue the Holy Spirit in prayer. Hint: He does.

So what comes after the Lord's Prayer? What other principles does Jesus give the disciples that we can learn from? Well, it's one that all three year olds know well. Shameless persistence. Audacity. Brashness. Not necessarily words you would always associate with prayer. But it's there. Jesus says it. So what does that tell us about prayer and the character of God? Take a listen!

What does the Lord's prayer teach us about who God is and about his posture towards us in prayer? Listen in as we talk about the second half of the Lord's prayer and what it teaches us about prayer, including the character and goodness of God. We'll be in Luke 11.

How many of us know more about prayer than we actually practice in prayer? Well then aren't you glad the disciples asked Jesus how to pray? The disciples watched Jesus do and teach amazing things. And they began to connect some dots. So they asked him, "Teach us to pray." It was the only thing they asked him to teach them how to do. But the model was not just in what Jesus told them but in what he showed them.

We often want things to happen suddenly so we do something suddenly. But the reality is most 'all of the sudden' moments happen because something had been happening continually. Acts 2 we read about the sudden sound of the Holy Spirit but we find in Acts 1 that united prayer had been happening continually. Why should that matter to us? Take a listen and find out!

In Luke 5 we run into a leper who asked Jesus to heal him. But how did he know Jesus could? We suspect it was because he had heard the stories of Jesus healing others. Jesus did more than associate, he welcomed and received sinners. As Luke says it, "Notorious sinners..." What got Jesus in the most trouble was who he welcomed to the table. In fact, what precedes some of the most famous parables on seeking and saving the lost (ie Prodigal Son) is Jesus welcoming "tax collectors and notorious sinners" to the table. Listen as Ps Brandon unpacks the first two verses of Luke 15 and challenges us in the way we love and receive people.

When Jesus stopped and washed the disciples feet, he was making more than a statement, he was setting an example for us. He was giving us a pattern for relationship. One that does more than wash our past journey, but set us up for our future journey together.
If you were to guess how Paul qualifies those who are spiritual, what would you think his standard was? Would you believe it's more about how we compare ourselves to others? And what does 'being spiritual' even mean? Take some time to get spiritual. To grow in unity. And to be one with others.
If you knew what Jesus prayed for, how would it change what you pray for? Or even the way you live? We believe what Jesus prayed for in John 17 is what He still prays for. Listen in as we discuss what Jesus prays for his people.
Pastor Paul Cole sits down with some of our amazing Dinner Party leaders to talk all things community in a very honest, powerful way. You will identify and be inspired by this very real talk with real people encountering a real Jesus in others.
"Jesus, make Mary get back up and help me?" Martha was frustrated that her sister had stopped helping her host and prepare dinner. Jesus replies with a very strong statement. "You are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about." What details in your life have become distractions from Jesus? What happens if we focus on only one thing? The one thing that matters most.
After Jesus kicks off his earthly ministry with a huge win, he doesn't something peculiar. He wakes up in the middle of the night and gets away from everyone. And he doesn't tell them where he's going. Essentially he is hiding. He's getting lost! In a culture where it is much easier to get found than get lost, what is Jesus showing us as he hides from his disciples and what does it mean to his identity moving forward?
As the Israelites leave Egypt they are faced with what seems to be an impossible situation. Trapped by the Red Sea and being pursued by the Egyptian army, Moses stands up and say, "The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still." How can he say something like this? And how does one translation's interpretation of this verse as "hold your peace" teach us about what it means to be still?
As we start a new year and live in a world of 'be busy' we are challenging ourselves to hear the words of Psalm 46:10 and start this year learning to "Be Still". To know who is God and who is not. Our hope is that we would be more fruitful, more effective, and more alive because we started by waiting on God.
In this first message, Pastor Brandon talks about how being in constant motion will actually cause us to be blurry. We will not be clear on who God is or who we are.
For a person in the ancient world, their name spoke to their nature. So what does it mean that Jesus is called wonderful counselor, mighty God, eternal father, and prince of peace?
Repentance is a big word... and often a misunderstood one! But through our confession comes freedom and that builds anticipation for the future! Advent, John the Baptist, repentance, Christmas... This is a good one! Take a listen for a new take on an old (and often misunderstood) word like repentance.
The paralyzed man didn't just go home.. he went home with praise. Recognize, praising, and thanking Jesus for what he had done and his praise pointed people to Jesus.
As we launch into our Vision Series, we talk about the power of unity. What does it look like when we connect to the right 'they' in our lives? Is it possible that we will see a church Like Never Before?
Special Guest, Pastor Sam Picken from C3 Toronto, shares three keys to enlarging our vision and stepping out in faith to see what we've never seen before. It was the perfect way to close out our first annual Leadership Wknd.
We have many voices in C3, all speaking the same message... Jesus! We loved getting to hear from five amazing people who call C3 FW home.
Don't you wish God will tell you how it's all going to happen BEFORE the moment? Well, most often He doesn't. We must step INTO the moment and He will give us what we need IN that moment.
Live and Multiply. Not manage. Not maintain. Multiply! How can we be people who multiply life in the streets and hearts around us?
We get a two for one special on this one! One of our amazing Dinner Party leaders, Matt Muehlen, shares his eight-year journey of freedom and how his mindset had to change before he lived the freedom God had given him. And then Pastor Brandon closes out our Free series with a powerful, eye-opening message about what our freedom is for!
There are two freedoms Christ gives us! Understanding both and living in both is a powerful truth that Ps Scott Treske shares.
Samuel Deuth from C3 San Diego visited us and shared a new perspective on an old bible story. Caleb and Joshua had been traveling with Moses through the desert as they remind us that we are Gods people and our language should reflect that. In our lives every day the words we use say a lot about our world view and what we think about God. When the 12 scouts came back to report on the promise land 10 of them spoke about it as if they could never see Israel taking the land. However Joshua and Caleb used language that reflected the power of their creator, knowing that their God was with them always, its a great example about what our language says about our God daily.
Faith is not lived alone! We all need a fellowship of faith. Those people who will encourage us in our journey and grow in us a faith that moves. We want our church to be a place where people are awakened and come alive in faith!
When we invite people over we sometimes tell them to make themselves at home. When we told God to move into our lives we should have handed over the keys and let him dwell in us and take over our lives. Have you given God the keys to your house, or have you said hey come on in and enjoy the downstairs living room and kitchen?
Our makes us different does not matter more than what brings us together. Christ. We are made to be unique and useful. To discover who we are as a person in the context of who we are as a people. And the key to all of it, making Jesus matter most.
Where do we find out who we really are? Paul speaks to where we find our true self. The most authentic, genuine version of us. Find out where, not just what, your real life is.
Too often we live with a blurry view of Christ. We live by a shadow of what is real. Paul tells us that Christ is our substance and everything else is a shadow! Let's fix our eyes on Jesus and get a clear view of who He is.
Me can make this life in Christ so complicated! So much more difficult than God intended. Paul says it's simple. It is simply Christ. And He is simply supreme in all things.
Jesus asked His disciples, "who do people say that I am?" and then he asked them "who do you say that I am?" Both of these questions are important for us to answer. Join us as we discover the context that Jesus set with these questions that he used to prepare his disciples so that we can, too, be prepared.
When asked who he was, John the Baptist said he was NOT the Messiah. When we try to be someone we are not, we end up pushing out the person we were trying to be. The 3rd part of the Disrupt series will help us discover how we can become a part of the body of Christ and live a life to Impress.
Nancy Houston is an author, speaker and certified sex therapist. Please join us as we wrap up our Loveology series with a Q&A session with Nancy as she answers questions of relationships, marriage and sex.
It should be a burning desire for each of us to become fruitful; to be productive. The book of John tells us that God has designed us to be a fruitful people and to multiply. And the more we produce, the more we will be pruned so that we could bare more fruit. Listen along as Pastor Brandon shows us the way to be fruitful and how to create fruit that will remain.
Your future is built upon the foundation of your faith. You can't increase the size of a house without first increasing the size of it's foundation. As your faith increases, your capacity to do what He has called you to do increases as well.
So what was the result of Holy Spirit's work in the early church? Joy. The city was filled with joy! What if that was our legacy... to bring joy to a city as we walk in the Holy Spirit.
When you're led by the Spirit you lead people to Jesus. One of Holy Spirit's primary roles is to lead us and guide us in life. What did that look like in the book of Acts?
The early church did not simply accept the gifts but desired them. It was founded upon the power of God. How can we walk in and with the gifts of the Spirit, especially when there is so much confusion around them.
The early church lived in an atmosphere of prayer. Every time God did something amazing, we see prayer before and after. As we kick off 21 days of Prayer be encouraged to go all-in.
Jesus told His disciples that it was best for them for Him to go home to heaven so that the Holy Spirit would come. That's how important the Holy Spirit is! He is what's best for you.
Listen as we close out the Dark Horses series with five phenomenal messages from five of C3 Fort Worth's fantastic leaders.
"Our father in heaven" creates identity. When a father knows who he is, then the child will know he they are. God will raise unexpected people who have identity, character and courage and those people will change the world.
A dark horse doesn't play by someone else's rules. That's what gave David the upper hand with Goliath. He knew who he was and didn't let the expectations of Saul, Goliath, or any other soldier change that. He picked up his stones and ran at the giant. Your alleged disadvantage may very well be the greatest advantage you have. You're free to do the unexpected because no one expects it.
We love to be us. To be me. To be free. But Paul actually challenges us to a life of imitation. Not to limit us, but to actually set us free. In our imitation of him, we find the ability to truly become who we are in Christ.
Are you surrounded by a cloud or a crowd? What's the difference? Everything. Our faith is built by those who have witnessed what God has done. A cloud reminds you of heaven so you can change earth, a crowd reminds you of earth so you forget about heaven. So who are you listening to?
Don't dream bigger. Dream higher. For many of you, the solution to your frustration is not to dream more, think more, pray more. It's to dream higher, to think higher, and pray higher. Listen as Pastor Brandon challenges us to fix out thoughts on what is above.
Habakkuk prays, "Do among us what you did among them." It was a huge prayer of faith and trust. Our desire during this series is that whatGod has done before he would do again... in you!
There is a purpose to our unity and our relationship. God desires to use our community as a way to communicate with the world. Through us loving other people will discover and experience God's love for them.
Before Paul gets to your calling individually he emphasizes our calling corporately. We believe you won't discover yours if you're not committed to our purpose as the body of Christ. Find out how to discover your 'Y' in 'Our.'
We often do 'Me' better than 'Us.' But Paul often emphasizes the 'Us' part of our faith. So much so that he says we should make 'every effort' to dwell in unity! If we have constant opportunity for division we must have constant commitment to unity.
God's intention for us as people is to be a house of God where He dwells? People should encounter God when they encounter us.
Time and place matter. Possibly the most challenging aspect of hearing God is to stop listening to others. Find out how Jesus committed to a life of prayer absent of distraction and how it can help you hear God speak.
Before we get into hearing from God, we want to make sure we know Him. That we do not approach him first to receive, but to relate. Listen in and hear how you can adjust your approach to know your Father who is God when you pray.
We kicked off our year on January 1st praying three key words over our church — momentum, multiplication, and miracles. Hear Ps Brandon encourage us on how to see our life multiply in 2017.
The ultimate sign of love is not in words spoken but actions taken. Listen and find out why Jesus' birth is actually the truest sign of how much he loves us and let it cause you to live always loved.
Happiness comes when something happens. Joy comes because something has already happened and nothing can change that. Joy is an all the time, every time feeling. How can you live with this type of joy?
We all have an idea of how life should look and how this world should work. Ultimately, that is what peace is all about. Everything living up to it's potential. All things as they should be. Discover the peace we find in Jesus' birth.
Hope might just be the strongest force on earth but only if we understand what it truly means. It's not wishful thinking but rather a confident expectation of God's hand in our lives. How can we all live with more hope?
The Kingdom Jesus announced had with it a calling or purpose for each of us. It gave us a mission for life. He started the Kingdom and we carry it on into everyday life. What is our Kingdom call?
It's not an accident that 'your kingdom come' shows up in the Lord's prayer before 'our daily bread'. How does praying this Kingdom prayer change the way we pray and in turn change the way we look at life?
From the moment Jesus started preaching the Sermon on the Mount the disciples knew this Kingdom life would be different. It would be much different than they ever expected when they decided to follow Him. So what is the difference between the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of Earth? And how do we live that difference?

"In the beginning..." God sets a tone. He immediately builds into our world a contrast. A difference between the kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of earth. We spend our whole life trying to close the gap between heaven and earth. What makes them so different and how can we live in that difference?
Jesus tells us to 'seek first the Kingdom' and it sounds like a good idea. But what if it wasn't simply an action to take but an antidote for life?
The disciples were accused of living contrary lives, of turning the world upside down! All because they proclaimed another king. What happens when we decide to serve a new king?
