The need for another Emergency Department is clear, according to a local campaign group. New INMO figures show 151 patients were accommodated on trolleys at Ennis General Hospital last month, following the deferral of scheduled care at University Hospital Limerick. In the same timeframe, just 8 patients were on trolleys at Nenagh Hospital. Friends of Ennis Hospital Chairperson Angela Coll insists Clare is suffering more than any other county when it comes to deficits in acute care.
