There’s a weird sea creature called the man-of-war. This creature is often mistaken for a jellyfish because of the similarities it has with jellyfish. In fact, it’s often called the man-of-war jellyfish. Like jellyfish, the man-of-war has a venomous sting that paralyzes its prey. As unsuspecting fish and other creatures swim into the venomous tentacles they become paralyzed and are at the mercy of the strange creature called the man-of-war. The Bible is paralyzing. Like the unsuspecting fish that swim into the tentacles of the man-of-war, unsuspecting people walk into the tentacles of God’s Word. In 1 Kings 13, we find one such incident. An unsuspecting king walked into the tentacles of a man-of-God and was exposed to the paralyzing Word of God. Have you done the same? Have you been paralyzed by God’s Word?
