Luke 11:1-13. From time to time, we can find ourselves reaching out to God from a place of deep desperation. Praying for and hoping for a miracle. Knowing that outside God's divine intervention there is no hope or help and we pray desperately, through our tears and grief, for Him to act on our behalf. Then as we wait and pray our hope is dashed in pieces as we do not get the answer we begged God for. We start asking questions in our confusion and grief that are now turning to anger and bitterness, "Was it my prayer that was the problem?" "Did I do it wrong in some way so God was not able to hear me?" "Do I not have enough faith?" "Does God not care about my hurt and desperation?" Then there is the moment of fatalism that may come to, "Well, there must not be a God because he did not answer me." So, what is wrong with us? Honestly, outside of our selfish sin nature, I do not know. But not understanding the nature of God and His love and care for us, can greatly misguide our view of the nature of what a rich and healthy prayer life really looks like in a relationship with the Almighty God. He hears us. He cares for us. So, pray without ceasing!
