In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. While that statement seems simple enough, issues surrounding the creation event - the HOW and the WHEN - have confused and divided Christians for millennia. However, while it's worth studying the various views, we must not forget that Genesis 1 was never primarily intended to answer those questions. It was written to tell us WHO created and WHY He did it. In this light, Genesis 1 fills us with life-changing peace, security, and personal significance!
