Like the rest of the human race, we are so prone to misuse our wealth (our money and possessions). We fail to use it in ways that honor God because we misunderstand what wealth is and what it's for. Contrary to the opinion of this world, wealth is not a good goal to pursue in life because it is inherently unreliable, because it is potentially dangerous to our spiritual health, and because it has absolutely no eternal value. Yet, though it's not a good goal to pursue, it's an excellent tool to use to worship God, to provide for the needs of others, to advance the gospel, and to earn eternal reward.
