When we think of the AIDS epidemic, we often see it as a thing of the past. But for many underrepresented, diverse communities, HIV and AIDS are still common threats. In this episode, Jane is joined by Dr. Sheldon Fields, renowned HIV researcher, research professor, and Associate Dean of Equity and Inclusion in the College of Nursing at Penn State University. He discussed the disproportionate effects certain diseases have on impoverished communities, the need for more representation in the healthcare field, and his own experience doing HIV prevention work with young men of color.
