This begins a new series on the Parables of Jesus. Some of His Parables are taught on a lot, but others don’t get the same attention. By studying them all we make sure each one is pursued so their intent can benefit our Christian walk. In this first teaching we look to get a good grip of the understanding Jesus is telling the Disciples to pursue.The first is probably the most covered, and though it is known as the Parable of the Sower, it is not about the sower at all! Three of the four Gospels tell of the parable with very few differences between them. Every time I come to this parable in our weekly chapter reading, or my own studies, I look for 3 things: what I don’t yet know or understand, what I may have forgotten about or just not staying continually mindful of, and what I am or should be doing to remain good soil for the word sown in me. My hope is to extend one or more of these to you in this study.
