Much has been going on in the arena of opinions as to how we should pray for "kings and all who are in authority," so we are going to spend today to see exactly what scripture tells us to do so that we do it and not what we think it says. There is no blessing on doing things our way, but there is following God's way. In order to follow it, we must understand it. We are going to look at a time in Israel's history where leadership was in question, plans were drawn up, sides were taken, and prayers were made. This has much to teach us about how we conduct ourselves now. My focus is what went on in the Word of God, what was God's view of it as well as people's, and how were prayers made. We will also look at the New Testament verses that tell us to pray for our leaders to see what exactly we are told to do.

Armed with understanding from these verses I trust we all can make good decisions on how and what to pray for our leaders.
